I purchased this towel to take on a vacation to California because I didn't have much room in my suitcase and I wanted something lightweight and easy to pack and dry. This was the PERFECT towel! Packed it in my carry on to use as a blanket on the flight and that was great because it was not heavy at all and did a good job of keeping me warm. This folds up pretty small so it was able to fit into my tote nicely.I took this to the beach as well to use as a beach towel and I don't think I will every go back to normal terry cloth towels. Not only was it light weight, but the sand get caught in it like it does with normal beach towels. The only thing I wasn't able to test out was how well it does at drying you of because we didn't get in the water. I don't think this would be an issue at all.I would have liked for these to be a TAD bit larger or maybe even double the size for a big beach blanket but for the price, I really love this and not to mention I LOVE the patterns of these! They are beautiful!! :) I may even purchase more to use as bath towels at home. I will be interested to see how they hold up in the long run. I have washed mine twice and only dried it once. I have also ironed once per the instructions but I didn't really think that made it softer, which is what it said it would do.Anyways, I really really like these towels and I'm so glad I purchased them!

After a long day home schooling my kids thanks to covid-19, you know what made me happy? These soft, much loved towels. I bought them 3 years ago, and they’ve only become better with age (unlike every other bath towel). So I thought I owed them a review.I’ll be honest, my kids and husband were very skeptical when they first arrived. They are much stiffer when new. My kids thought it seemed like drying off with a blanket. I got them all normal, terry cloth towels and kept these all to myself (and I got 10 in different colors!)Every time you wash them they get softer, and slowly but surely I noticed everyone was grabbing these towels from my fluffy stack near the shower. They are now as soft as my softest t-shirt, and not a single one looks worn. They are great at drying you off, and they dry quickly.At first I washed them carefully in mesh bags, but over time I just threw them in with anything, unprotected, and they are unfazed.These towels seem like they will last forever, and they put a smile on my face when the world is otherwise a mess. Absolutely amazing! I was searching for a non-traditional beach towel when I stumbled upon this amazing product - and I'm so happy I did! It came beautifully packaged and I felt like I was opening a present just for me! When first examining the towel, it was obviously thing (way thinner than a traditional towel) and a little rough. I threw the towel in the wash as other reviewers suggested and the roughness went away leaving a very soft towel. Next step was to actually try it out at the beach. It was GREAT! Because it is so thin, it easily packed into my beach bag without taking up much space, leaving plenty of room for all my other beach necessities (HUGE PLUS as I'm a heavy packer.) I didn't use my towel to lay on as I have a beach tapestry for that as well as beach chairs. But it was great to cover my beach chair when I sat in it, it was perfect for drying off after a dip in the ocean - it dried my quickly (absorbing all the water right up off my skin) and then dried itself quickly in the sun as well (dry enough to pack right back into my bag when leaving the beach without getting everything else wet!) Great product - definitely buying more and even have convinced my boyfriend and some friends to switch to these pieces of magic!

I first saw Dandelion Textile browsing on Instagram and I immediately Googled them looking for where I can get my hands on their towels. I had gone to several stores like J Crew looking for Turkish cotton towels and they were selling some for $76! This towel is such a great value! I agree with Odevron's review, this towel does not have the gross wet/moldy smell like regular thick bath towels. This towel is nice and large, larger than my normal beach towel size but it rolls up even smaller than all my beach towels so it's really fun to take around with me. I received this natural and grey towel about a week ago and yes it is a bit more tan than it is light but that's okay because I love the design and quality so much. The design is like a beautiful combination of a traditional Turkish towel mixed with a Mexican blanket style. The instructions on the adorable packaging say to wash first to maximize the softness and I'll admit I didn't follow the instructions because I was so excited to use and it was already soft! I can drape this on my couch as a lightweight blanket and decorative piece, use it as my everyday towel, bring it to the beach/park, etc. There's just so much to do with this wonderful piece I can't wait to get another.

I bought this towel and another from Dandelion Textiles to use as beach towels for my daughter and myself. When I opened the box, I thought there was only one towel in there, they are so thin! They do recommend you wash and iron these towels before use, which I did. I was skeptacle of how much these would absorb and so decided to try it at home before heading to the beach.The towel was super absorbent and soft, although I did NOT use it on my hair (I was worried it would be soaked after that!). We have since taken them to the beach and they are perfect! They hardly take up any space in my bag, yet are large enough to lay out on and I'm 5'10". They are quite absorbent but also dry fairly quickly. I laid on my towel for a while after going in the water. When I was too hot from being in the sun, I wrapped the damp towel around like a shawl and it was nice and cool and shielded me from the sun. ONE NOTE: These towels get pretty wrinkly! You can iron them, but who wants to do that everytime you wash your towels? It's fine for the beach but it would drive me crazy for household use.
