I mounted mine to a wall using 2 small finish nails for each panel, directly into the drywall, and I haven't had any problems. **Q: Wouldn't sound find its way or seep through spaces between or next to each panel?** A: Any uncovered wall is going to transfer sound as it normally does. The panels fit tight together (if you want them to), so any sound bleed will be minimal. Sound waves transfer through solid surfaces, therefore the idea is to add "dead" air space, which is very inefficient at transferring sound waves. All the tiny pockets of trapped air in these panels is "dead" air. **Q: Will these work on a wall by a bird cage to reduce squawking noise from a Quaker Parrot? Would like to hear less in the rooms next to hers.** A: These panels will reduce common noises quite well as they are made of a dense material. My office is now annoyingly quiet since putting them on a single wall. I'm certain the noise from a Parrot would be reduced, but I'm not sure it would be enough, depending on the volume and pitch of your parrot's voice. You may have to put panels on both sides of the wall to get the benefits you are wanting. I'm glad I bought mine and would consider buying more if they ever go on sale. After taking out all of the panels and spreading them out, I could quickly see the wood look.So easy to install. You literally sticker them onto the wall! Cutting was very easy with a box cutter, straight edge, and a large cutting board.The only downside is that each package did not come with enough stickers/adhesive for all 6 panels in the box so I needed to do a Walmart run.They look great installed as an accent wall, helping buffer the guest bedroom from the master bedroom. I have a single-wall construction home which means that there’s a 3/4” thick piece of material separating each room instead of insulation and drywall. Certain family members, who visit often, are notoriously loud snorers and I can’t handle any more nights of internally cursing them. I’ll update after testing them with said visiting family members!Update from 2025!They hold up well and blocked all of my Dad’s snoring!After 4 sets of visitors, we weren’t able to hear excessive conversations, TV, or snoring. They don’t block everything out but do a great job of significantly reducing noise. Loud conversations get turned into something akin to low white noise.Physically they hold up against luggage bumping and furniture rubbing the wall. I would've rated them a 5 but the adhesive used on these panels isn't great. I followed the directions and thoroughly prepped my wall but after 2 days, they all fell down. I recently bought some double-sided adhesive rounds to try.
