iTouchless 13.2 Gallon / 50L Step Trash Can with Lid | AbsorbX Odor Filter

Three years in, and we still love our trash can. Have been cautious of the lid riser since it's plastic, but two teens and I have not broken it. Stainless steel polishing spray works perfectly on it. I gave up the charcoal filter because we take trash out often. It's the best looking trash can!

I purchased this for us in my new kitchen. I have all stainless steel appliances, so the appearance matches well. I have been pleased. It is nicely constructed. I like the removable insert. The lid also works very easily. I did initially find it hard to hold the lid open. However, after an email to the vendor, they explained that one needs to lift up on the lid as it is coming up, before it reaches past about 30-60 degrees open. Then one can pull it back to stay open very easily. If you use the foot pedal to fully open the lid, and then try to push it back to stay, it is very difficult. It comes with an odor-reducing filter which I suppose helps but is hard for me to judge. I have not noticed any odors with the lid closed. All in all, this is a very good product that looks good and functions well. I prefer to use larger trash bags that do not stretch tight around the insert. There is a little clearance around the edge of the insert for the top of the bag to fold over and down for a neat fit. However, I initially had problems getting the edge of the bag to stay put while I lowered the insert into the can. I easily solved this by getting some larger rubber bands. I now fold the top of the bag around the top of the insert, and wrap it with a large rubber band. This holds it in place as I lower the insert. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an attractive, well made garbage can.

I love this trash can. I’ve had it for 6+ months and it still makes me smile. I had a cheap, plastic, ugly trash can I purchased from Target years ago that I wanted to replace for the longest time, but couldn’t wrap my mind around spending almost $90 on a fricking trash can. However, this trash can was worth every penny and I would spend even more money for this trash can if needed. Pros - everything. Looks great and works even better. The minimalistic, sleek, smudge-proof design makes storing trash sexy. The step pedal requires very little force, and the lid opens quickly but with restraint. No lid snapping open and striking your walls happening here. There is an inner plastic lining that is removable, making trash bag removal and changing easy. There is a little notch where you slide a small portion of the trash bag into to keep it from slipping and it does just that - no slippage of your trash bag. No reaching down into the doom and gloom of strange odors and textures to wrangle the topmost edge of the bag free when it slips down. The bag ALWAYS stays put. And the trash can blocks odors!!! My kitchen never smells from the trash, even if it’s spoiled food. Cons - nothing. Worth every single penny. I would sell my plasma if needed to get this trash can again. I realize I am now fully adulting to be gushing over something like a trash can, but this was one of my best purchases for the entire year. You will love this trash can.

We bought this item in 2018. Since that time, they changed the design slightly, by increasing the diameter of the air damper that causes the lid to close slowly. As a result, there are no spare parts that fit our 2018 can. It was a little disappointing because one of the advertisements on the product page was that the parts could be replaced so it would always feel like new... and also that the lid would close softly 200,000 times. I ordered a replacement air damper for $15, and then contacted iTouchless to explain that the diameter of the damper seems to have changed since the version I own, and unfortunately the parts are not backward compatible since they do not fit. I would still recommend the trashcan because it is the right size and shape to fit lots of garbage without taking up too much space. The round cans are terrible because they fill up more quickly so you need to empty very often. For apartment dwellers with a garbage chute: I guess one small negative consideration is that rectangular bins result in a rectangular shaped mass of garbage. If you have a trash chute in an apartment building, you might find it is easier to deposit garbage from a round bin into the trash chute. This is my situation, but i still am able to make it work, and like the high capacity of the bin.

Just what we were looking for!

At first I found it a bit high priced for “just a trash can” that goes in the kitchen. $100 for an indoor trash can? But I must say, I’m glad I made the purchase. The step lever works flawlessly, doesn’t feel like it ‘clicks’ or plastic parts are about to break. Installing a new bag is a breeze because under the lid, there is also a frame that lifts up, allowing you to put a new bag in, and ‘pinching’ it in place when you lower that frame. Bad smells stay locked in thanks to the lid and a scent absorbing pad. If you have been on the fence because of the price, don’t, the moment you receive it you will thank me.

Product sleek and easy assemble with immediate use.

We were very pleased with this trash can, giving it gentle use by just the two of us, until last night when the plastic piece that connects the hinged open/close device(s) BROKE in pieces. So now it works only minimally. We have to VERY GENTLY press the foot lever and hold the top so it only opens a couple inches... push our waste inside... and then manually push the lid back down. I've written to the manufacturer to ask if that piece is replaceable... otherwise we'll have to buy a new can of a DIFFERENT BRAND for sure. :-( MORE: The manufacturer responded, requesting photos and a copy of our invoice. After we emailed those things, they wrote back. Status: they mailed us TWO of the "Carbon Filter Gates" for our trash can! My husband installed the new heavier-duty "gate" and it works better than it did when new! So I've upgraded the rating from 3 stars to 5 stars!

This can leans more towards light bronze than rose gold but it is very pretty. It arrived with no scratches or dents like previous reviews stated. The garbage does not smell. I bought the one with the odor control. It works well. I never have to touch the lid to put garbage in. Works like a dream.
