Wouldn't suggest for small children.
The sides are hard to put together. I feel like I got shorted on candy, especially since I received no bananas in the Runts package and it was mostly the purple/plum/grape candy. If the candy isn't flat, it's hard to get it to stick to the house without falling out. At least the Icing was decent. I feel like this was a great idea, but then you out it together and it's not.

Delicious
We had a lot of fun building and designing the Ginger bread house. We used candy that we had around the house , chocolates and even icing that we had from making cakes. It came out great and taste delicious. Highly recommend. We loved it and ate most of it. Sugar rush.

Only comes with .26 pounds of candy! Not a 1/2 pound like they advertise!! Don’t buy
Don’t buy! Make your own by scratch.Definitely a rip off considering I didn’t receive the “1/2” pound of candy that is advertised with this kit. Considering that’s technically what you’re paying for. Decided to weigh the measly 4 mini bags and it came to .26 total in their wrapped packages! Big let down. Was worried I would receive the kit with broken gingerbread (as most previous reviews claimed) But luckily to my surprise they were all intact (That is the only reason this gets 2 stars)

Broken and Not Enough Candy to Decorate as Pictured.
2 of the cookies were cracked right down the middle. Even if nothing was broken, I'd still give it a 1 star b/c the quantity of the candy provided is not sufficient to decorate the house as shown on the box -- and I'm talking about only the parts you can see. I'm not even talking about the back of the house or the other side of the house that aren't pictured on the box. You will definitely need to buy your own candy. When we opened the box, we couldn't help but laugh. Instead of build the house, we watched a movie and ate the candy instead! Threw the rest of it out in the trash -- a real waste of money.

Worst purchase on Amazon ever!
I bought 4 of these to do my annual Gingerbread decorating contest with my four grandkids...well, I pick them all up yesterday, December 21st (Saturday) we go out to eat and then back to the house to do some decorating—ONLY TO FIND THAT ALL FOUR HAD MULTIPLE CRACKED PANELS!!! We tried to put them together with the frosting provided, but to no avail. I had to run to the closest Walmart to purchase FOUR MORE GINGERBREAD HOUSE KITS! I had to give them one star in order to post this, but they don’t deserve one star!!! I want my money back!

Okay but not great
This was okay. The candy was great but the icing didnt adhere the walls and roof well so unfortunately it fell apart frequently. If the icing was improved this would be pretty good. If you buy, I recommend having a back-up for icing.

Expired
Didn't check it when it arrived, but went to use it today and discovered it expired almost a year ago. I suppose it only matters if you're going to eat it, but...Also, contrary to some reviews I've seen, it is NOT safe for peanut allergies. It has a "may contain" warning.
