Step Down/Up Transformer 220v to 110v
Bought this because I purchased a Frequency Counter for testing. The seller listed it as USA 110v but the product I received was 220v Australia plug, did not have time to return, so I bought this to STEP UP the voltage from 110v to 220v. It was easy to use just set the input voltage to 110v and plugged the device into the 220v outlet and it worked, it was that easy. There is no smell, and there is no noise. The item is heavy about 20 Lbs so portability would be limited. It is fused and load protected, the Frequency Counter only draws 1 amp, so it is not a high load, but now this allows me to have different option, so that when I get a device from outside the United States I can now either step up or down the voltage. It also convert 60hz to 50hz or 50hz to 60hz. The device is solid and well constructed, I am very happy, and the price was amazing, and shipping was fast got it the next day, did not have to wait weeks to return the Frequency Counter and try and find another new but not used. So this was a win win for me.

220V output sockets are defective
Discovered immediately that I cannot insert a standard NEMA 6-20P plug in the "universal" 220V sockets. This is a very common 220V plug, and should fit. But upon close inspection of the sockets it appears that the metal contacts are not aligned correctly with the holes in the plastic faceplate. It's conceivable that by pushing REALLY HARD I could force the plug in, but I don't want to break anything (and how would I ever get it out?)Naturally there doesn't seem to be any way to contact the manufacturer.I returned it for a similar competitive unit. It arrived today; first thing I did was try to plug into the 220V socket. No problem at all. This unit definitely had defective 220V sockets (both of them).

excellent deal
took it to the Philippines had absolutely no problem with their 220 converting it to 110. Even plumped a welder in and it worked fantastic a little heavy but to be expected for a heavy duty for a voltage converter

Mildly surprised at this
This is a step-up transformer that does its job well.I am impressed by how silent this device is. I am also satisfied that it delivers the accurate voltage output that I need. I have not tested its current capacity yet, but I trust that it can handle the rated load.I work with 230VAC servo and variable frequency drives regularly and I needed a reliable voltage solution. This is the device that I wish I had bought sooner.

Gamechanger for c-pap users!
My husband has a cpap and snores so bad without it that when we travel in our RV, it makes it way too hard for me to sleep if we are off the grid on an adventure. He can charge with our generator and this works all night and we both sleep great!

After less that 10 time use it stop working
It will degrade quite fast … I used it to operate a coffee machine that I bought in Europe. Now after less than 10 coffees the transformer gave out. The safety keeps being triggered. Very unhappy given the money spend on it.

used it to run a pioneer 240V mini split from a 120V generator
bought a NEMA 6-20 plug (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08X6PTYLQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) to go into the 240V socket of this transformer. attached a wire to it and connected it to my mini split. the plug did not go in so I had to use pliers to make the ground pin slightly thinner to allow it to go into the socket. the power consumption at no load was about 10watt.
