Functional and Easily installed!
These fit my 2012 Scion TC and it took my guy and I about 5 minutes to install. I only got hit in the head twice by the hatch before ordering these. Avoid head trauma order them! LOL

Work as good as much more expensive struts. Local auto parts wants more for one than I paid for two!
Worked like a charm on my 2012 Denali. Struts had just gotten weak enough that one day in the rain, just the weight of that rain, the back would only open like 1 foot, then close right back down. Changed these out in less than 5 minutes for both, with my wife holding up the door, and when done, pushed the button, closed right down. Pressed keyfob again, went up to top, and when I pressed again, down slowly like the day we got her...

Works but difficult to get in place
Bought these struts to replace on 2005 Excursion rear hatch. These struts are about 3 inches longer than the OEM part and the compression is about 100lbs. I tried muscling them into place, but I guess I'm just not man enough to compress them. In the end, I used a ratchet strap to compress them to the right length for installation. Once I got the right length the end popped right into place. The rear hatch now opens with zero effort and lifts to the maximum height that the hinge allows. You need a second person to hold open the hatch with a strut removed but after figuring out the ratchet strap for compression the install took only minutes and the result is great.
