Face by face
Okay, let's break this down face by face, because I know the target market for these includes people who want to know for absolute sure first.Worry stone side: a little deeper than I expected, deeper than the average actual worry stone if you're familiar with those. Lip of the divot is pretty defined. A bit like the tray for cheap watercolor paints.Flat spinny thing side: I ordered two cubes and the spinny things are slightly different. One spinny thing has a slight ridged feeling under it, kindof like the edge of a quarter, which seems permanent/stable -- I spun it about 2 hours during a movie and it's still there. I actually like it. The other one has what feels like a scuff or snag underneath, like a flat spot on a shopping cart wheel, but that comes and goes with angle/pressure.Joystick side: One of my joysticks has just now, as I write this, started sticking and squeaking. I'll try WD-40 on it later. The stick can be pulled out slightly, but snaps right back; the head can also be pulled off entirely and put right back with no problems (the squeaking is too deep inside the cube to be related). It has a smooth round motion -- not like a lot of video game controllers that have an octagon feeling to them.Silver ball/gears side: Ball spins and rotates freely, and clicks satisfyingly. The gears are not connected to eachother and also spin freely -- I expected them to ratchet like the lock on a briefcase but they don't. Sad.Switch side: The switch definitely "wants" to switch more in one direction than the other. You'd have to be pretty conscious of what you're doing to keep this silent.Buttons side: 3 click, 2 don't, as advertised. The three that click have to be pressed pretty hard -- I thought it was defective until I happened to press that much harder. The outside is made of two three-face pieces, pretty tightly together -- you could get a fingernail in there if you tried, but not by accident. It has a slight texture to it, which seems to be molded on and not a coating that can be picked off.

Really enjoying playing with this
I've always been a pen-clicker. I've broken quite a few pens while absentmindedly twisting, clicking, and tapping them. This fidget cube is an awesome substitute! It offers a wide variety of fidgety options, and it's small, lightweight, and easy to hold. I love that it came with a neat little zipper case to keep it safe.I can't compare this to the other cubes available, because this is the first I've tried, but I'm much more satisfied with it than I expected to be. Here's a quick review of each side:Joystick: The joystick can swivel around in a circle. If pulled upward, it will snap back into place. I like to wedge my fingertip under it and snap it rapidly. It CAN come off, but it's very easy to pop back on.Ball and gears: The gears' edges are a little rough. They can be rolled with my fingers or spun freely, but I don't like their texture. Maybe if they had a rubber wheel texture, like matchbox cars' tires? The metal ball is really fun, though. I can roll my thumb over it, use it to roll the cube around on my palm, or even click it. It makes a subtler click noise, but pops up immediately. Very satisfying.Buttons: Three buttons make click noises and two don't. The clicking ones need to be pressed pretty hard before they'll click (at first I thought they were all silent). They all feel a bit slow when they pop back, so in my opinion, they aren't as satisfying to push as the ball bearing.Switch: This is my favorite! It can be flipped rapidly and makes a loud click every time. I can also gently rock it side to side with my thumb, which is much quieter.Spinner: The spinner side doesn't have a lot of weight to it. It's just a very thin, rotating plastic disc. It does not spin very freely -- it makes maybe one rotation before it stops. If I use my thumb to turn it, it doesn't have much tactile sensation. Would be kind of nice if it clicked as it turned. I CAN spin the cube on it, though. My toddler often steals my cube, sets it spinner-side down, and twirls it around.Worry stone: One thing to be said for this -- it does fit my thumb quite nicely. I can run my fingertip around the edges of the indent, or just rest my thumb in it while my fingers play with another side. It doesn't really do much, though.Altogether, this is a nice alternative to breaking all my pens. Five stars!

Good quality, easy to dissasemble and clean, fun to fidget with!
This is my first fidget cube. My main reasons for picking this one were the low price and the good customer reviews. This cube is good quality and it feels great in your hand. All of the sides function exactly as they are supposed to, and it is very satisfying to fidget with.A couple days ago, I made the mistake of forgetting to take it out of my pocket before going to the beach. Sure enough, I got sand in my pockets and all up in the cube. Although I was able to get most of the sand out by tapping and shaking the cube at different angles, some sand had gotten deep into the joy stick, and it was sticking and grinding. No bueno. I was pretty bummed and didn't know the best way to handle it. Let me say: if this happens to you, DON'T bother trying to pour oil or WD-40 into the joystick--there's a MUCH better solution. This fidget cube is very easy to disassemble. All you need is a mini Phillips-head screwdriver. Here's what you do: 1) carefully pry up the spinny wheel, 2) unscrew the two screws that are underneath, 3) carefully pull directly up on the head of the joystick. It will pop off the metal rod that it sits on. 4) carefully separate the two halves. There are a series of plastic pins that keep the two together, and all you have to do is pull them apart (it's not like some toys where these are clips that you need to put pressure on). 5) Now that you're inside the cube, you can explore around and unscrew other things--it's fairly easy to see what fits in to where (note: to remove the switch, you need to pull out the pin that it pivots on). You can even open up the magnetic base of the joy stick and clean it out completely. Go through all of the components with a clean cloth or paper towel and wipe them down. The cube is very easy to reassemble, and when you put it back together, it will be good as new, or even better.I'm giving it 5 stars because 1) it feels like good quality, 2) it's easy to disassemble and clean, and 3) it's a pleasure to fidget with.
