Great nail buffer ... SUPER QUIET!
This did not disappoint me, but I was not buying this as a substitute for nail clippers . . . I purchased this to "buff" my dog's nails after I trimmed them. It may work to be used as the primary trimmer for a VERY small dog's nails -- or a cat's nails -- but it would take two forevers to use this as the ONLY nail clipper for my Australian Shepherd. This is VERY quiet (please listen to the attached video), but ANY animal will still be a little bit frightened of the noise and the vibration when touching the nail. This is exactly the same type of item my groomer uses to buff a dog's nails after trimming them. Overall, I am very happy with this product!!

There's literally no sound and easy to work with
I have a golden retriever puppy at home and she's sensitive to ANY kinds of nail cutters. I bought this for a try and it surprises me! There's literally no sound and easy to work with. I have to say that this is the first time I trim her nails that peacefully... lol

It really depends on what your useage will be.
For me, this is four stars. The caveat is that I have a very placid dog who is willing to let me use this grinder and a pet nail file for however long it takes. It DOES need to be recharged frequently and really doesn't take that much off the dog's nail. My objective is to use some type of filing every day to chase back the quick, on an adopted dog whose nails were too long, now that I'm down to the quick. It suits my purpose by doing a little every day and mixing it up with a heavier grit file. I seriously doubt it would be a solid option for all dogs and their owners. Possibly for small dogs. It isn't loud at all, but it isn't very powerful either. If I was looking to really get a lot of nail reduction, this wouldn't be an adequate choice.

Great!
Works great! Couple pointers:1. If nails are longer when you are using it for the first time, trim them first with standard pet nail trimmer. Works much better on the shorter, softer nail parts than the long, hard pointy end. Once you have them short, then you can just use the grinder every couple weeks. I think this is the problem people who say it didn't work ran in to.2. Only apply it to the nail for a couple seconds at a time, the friction can heat the nail up quickly and be painful for your dog. I start one nail on a paw for several seconds in a couple spots, then move to the next nail on that foot and rotate through so you do all 4 or 5 nails simultaneously.3. I would recommend having your dog on his or her back between your legs with paws up in the air. Might require treats, no grinding to accomplish this initially.Great grinder overall! If you can use it successfully once you've made your money back from a pro groomer nail grind which runs around $20.

Great tool for pet lovers
Nice item for all pet lovers. I have used this several times with my collie and it has been a nice experience. It took our dog a couple of tries to get used to the sound of the grinding but this way is way easier and safer than clipping in my opinion. The electric grinder comes with different attachements depending on your dogs nail size. The grinder spins at a comfortable speed which is good enough to control how much you are grinding. This has been an excellent tool for us because our dog loves to greet people by jumping on them so with this is way easier to keep those nails from hurting anybody .

By using all three ports, I was able to trim from different angles and have faster results.
I Love Everything About This Grinder. Love that it's re-chargeable, and lasts long enough to do the job. This is the 1st time I used it. Quiet, it's the 5th device I've tried, it's the FIRST time my 16 lb Boston let me do her nails without a fight! It does have a slight high pitched sound that she didn't mind, (I turned it on a few different times and let her hear and smell it while she was eating, and while we were lounging, without using it) and the vibration is minimal, while the stone is much smoother than so many sand paper grinders, so it works quickly to smooth the nails with no snags. By using all three ports, I was able to trim from different angles and have faster results. You just have to remember to tap and move to another position so it doesn't get hot. I did 2 front paws in under 10 minutes, from way too long noisy nails, to cute, short, little clean nubs! Will do her back feet when it's warm enough to stay outside for another 10 minutes! (I do it with the breeze taking the dust away from us for easier breathing.)

Gently Quiet but Effective!
What a handy little grinder this is. I like that it comes apart in several different sections so you can adjust it to your individual pets needs. It doesn't spin out of control like a rotary tool, and it is pretty quiet. All things that my dog appreciates! It comes with a USB charger as well. Unlike some other pet files i've had, I will be getting lots of use out of this one!

Great filer. I wish I had bought it sooner
Great filer. I wish I had bought it sooner. I used this on our 70+ pound mixed breed dog who is 13 years old. We usually try to use a nail clipper on him with minimal success. His nails were very long, especially on the front two paws. This nail grinder was amazing. I was worried he will be very uneasy with the noise level and the vibrating sensation. I did a quick spot test on my nails just to get a sense of what it felt like. The vibration level was quite mild. Our dog didn't mind the noise or the grinding part at all. The grinder was very effective. His overgrown nails are much more groomed and look like he just came back from a professional grooming appointment. I am very pleased with the purchase.
