Absolutely the BEST mouth guard ever!!!!!
I have tried several brands of mouth guards and this one is by far the BEST ever! Other brands were made from hard plastic and never conformed to the shape of my teeth. This brand is smooth with no rough edges and fits perfectly to my front teeth. This removes all the pressure from my back teeth and eliminates all the pain. The trick is to FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY. I heated a large volume of water in a metal pot to a hard rolling boil. Then I inserted the mouth guard into the water for a full 60 seconds sweeping the guard back and forth as if i were making a cup of tea with my tea bag. I had to wear a glove as the steam from the hot water was burning my fingers. After 60 seconds, the plastic gets very very soft and is easily molded to the shape of my teeth. The fit is perfect, slips on easily and never slides off during the night while I sleep. This is a GREAT mouth guard that exceeds the quality of every other brand I have tried.

Comfortable protection
This dental mouth guard is an effective solution for teeth grinding & clenching. A well-fitted guard provides comfort and durability while reducing jaw strain and preventing enamel damage. Boil-and-bite is easy to mold for a custom fit, though initial molding may take a few tries. Was uncomfortable at first, but I did get used to sleeping with it in my mouth over time. Overall, it’s a great investment for protecting teeth and improving oral health. No more waking up with a headache and jaw pain. And it stays put in my mouth all night.

Seemed Like a Great Fit Until the Next Morning [[Non-Returnable Item]]
I've been wearing night guards for years to help with nightly clenching and grinding. I've always used the Dentek guards but thought I would try out this front teeth only guard.I've always dreaded having to fit a new Dentek and sometimes it doesn't go super well. I will say the fitting process for these SmartGaurd guards is really well thought out. The first one went so well that I formed the second as a backup in the same session.I thought things were great. It was a tight comfortable fit and I felt it conformed to my mouth better than any Dentek I had ever used.Until the next morning. I woke up and my lips were really dry because my mouth couldn't close while I slept. But the worst part was how my teeth felt. It felt like someone had spent the night trying to pull my top and bottom teeth out of alignment. They felt bruised and all day I had trouble chewing and even just closing my mouth. It felt like my tope and bottom front teeth were misaligned. The next night I tried my backup guard and while the next morning was a little better the problem was still there. It's been two days since I last wore it and my teeth still feel a little out of whack.I'm not sure why it happened but it may be due to the thick hard bottom plate of this SmartGaurd. It doesn't allow the top and bottom teeth to rest naturally. Also this gaurd is so thick and it wraps around to the top palette so any chance of speaking intelligibly with this guard is gone. As I said above I've been wearing night guards for years and this is the first time I have had to take it out tom simply tell my wife good night.Maybe this is better for people with bigger mouths (I'm a 40 year old male), but it just didn't work for me. I'll be going back to the Dentek or something similar.

Less TMJ Pain
Yes, it’s pretty bulky. My first time molding it, I followed instructions and ended up with a night guard that made me gag every time I put it in. But the other one I didn’t bite down as far or suck towards my upper palette and it was way more bearable. My physical therapist recommended this particular product for TMJ pain. I’ve noticed pretty significant improvement to my masseter muscles, which was where the bulk of the pain was. Since back teeth can’t touch, it brings a lot less pain there.Unfortunately I am still clenching my jaw very hard and it has transferred to the bottom front teeth, which are quite sore from the new pressure. It’s bearable so far and still better than before, but definitely not a complete solution to TMJ.

Glad it came with two.
I am glad it came with two. But I actually got the first mold to work. My teeth were very sensitive at the time, but I made it through after 3-5 attempts. By the time I did it right, I truly understood how and why this wouldn't fall out of my mouth. I can either see the ridges of the veins on the roof of my mouth. It works well. The dental hygienist who recommended it did a good job.

Smartguard Night Guard
I wish I could give this a full try, but I couldn't even last an hour. I have mandibular tori (excessive bone in my lower jaw) and my tongue is already being pushed out of place. The back of the mouth guard was so bulky on my palate, that it pushed my tongue even more out of place and was very uncomfortable. The instructions were very clear and molding was quite easy. Make sure the mug or bowl you use is large enough that you can hold the guard in the water and prevent it from touching the sides. Once molded, it fit comfortably around my gums. For the price, it was worth a try to avoid expensive dentist options!

>$500 from the dentist
After a year or so of using this guard, I thought it time for a review... I've had this type of guard for years, fitted by a Dentist. After a couple crowns it doesn't fit very well anymore. Cost for replacement is over $500 (at least from my current Dentist). The best part of this style guard is that it fits over the forward teeth only. According to my original Dentist, this is preferred since you naturally won't clench very hard on these teeth. However, when the guard extends to the aft most teeth, it might provide a surface where bruxism (clenching and grinding action) might cause TMD (temproal mandibular disfunction). (Yes, I was taught those words, though I had to do research to recall them.) This guard is not perfect (a little bulky) but I found it easy to get used to, and it performs very well. Plus I have over $550 dollars left in my wallet. Just, don't bite too hard when you are fitting them so that your front teeth bite through. They work either way, but when the front bites through, you are left with an opening the tongue might want to play with.
