Rotating Disco Ball Light, 6-Inch

Update Oct 2019: Still works!! Once the bulb died I could not find a replacement. I almost donated it, BUT THEN I had the idea to put a small base (candelabra) chandelier bulb in it! Presto! It works again. Now this is the perfect add to a teen sleepover in the basement. Since it still works and still has a purpose - I've increased its rating to 5 stars.This purchase was based on previous reviews and price point. I was looking for a disco ball for girl dance parties. Although this is small, it is perfect for young girls and does a good job of bathing a bedroom in a variety of lights. It comes with a lightbulb and when I got mine the lightbulb was just laying inside of the globe rattling around. Although I was sure it must be broken, it was not. And when I attached it the disco light worked great.

I purchased two of these for my daughter's 7th birthday party. She loves them however one of them wasn't working properly right out of the box - it was making a grinding noise. The fix was very simple, so anyone that has had the same problem, here is what you have to do: Unplug the lamp, make a mark on both halves before separating them, this will make putting the two halves back together easy, take the globe and the bulb off turn the base upside down and remove the 3 screws, pull the two halves apart. You will see that the rotating is controlled by the small motor with a gear on it, the motor and gear are adjustable, just loosen the screw and you can move the entire motor and gear closer to the center gear, tighten the screw back up and the problem is fixed. I also cleaned up and put a little grease on the gears. Reassemble the unit in reverse; make sure to align the marks you made earlier. One other thing I did while I had it apart was make it so the lamp can be hung upside down. If you look at the base, there are 3 little "feet" there that are open to the inside of the lamp. I just took 3 equal length pieces of heavy string and tied knots on the end and ran them from the inside out. You have to make sure the knot is big enough so that it doesn't pull through the hole. On the outside I tied the 3 pieces together, making sure they stayed the same length. Now you can just hang the lamp upside down from a hook or something on the ceiling or it can still be used on a table top.

It arrive broken. It's just plastic, so I think something in the motor broke during shipping, However, the light worked and I was able to turn in manually so I could tell that if it was functioning properly it would have been a cool effect for my dance party (low expectation for the price, but it should atleast work!). I wasn't able to use it for my party since it arrived broken, but I would buy it again, but would order it early enough to test it before the party. However, beware this is not a high quality item, but for the price it's good for a one-time use.

Bought this for my daughter's 9th birthday party which was a sleepover. The girls turned this on and it was instant fun. The cord is not that long but you could always add an extension cord. I had parents asking me where I bought it because their girls were talking about how cool it was. Lights up the entire room with colorful lights that go from floor to ceiling. Well worth the money. Kids love to turn it on and dance to it. Instant party! Get one!

My daughter received this as a Christmas present. She absolutely loves it. It seems a little jerky as it spins around, but I think that might be because my 3 year old was trying to sit on it. But so far, so good! We haven't had any problems with it, and the price was fantastic.follow up: well, it broke. the color discs keep falling out, and the plastic piece that hold the light bulb snspped off. I wish it had been better made, but ths is definitely not meant for a house with little children. I'm certain most of the damage is due to my crazy toddler, but still, it's very cheaply made.

What more can I say about this? Upon arriving the product didn't produce any light, but all I had to do was take off the top and tighten the bulb a bit and that fixed my problem. It's decently bright, and it's very simple to fix if the bulb ever went out. I bought this at $14 and can say it met my expectations.

If I could give this disco ball no stars I would but 1 is the lowest it will let me go!!!! I received the packaged half untaped and then took the inner box out with the light in it and stuff was rattling around in it, black plastic pieces started falling out so being that its less than a week till christmas I thought maybe I could replace a washer or something from lowes.... No such luck!!! the WHOLE gear that rotates the light was snapped off inside of the light... I mean come on. When somebody shipped that out they didnt think to check it when they heard pieces rattling around. Give me a break. Im just glad a found it before my little girl opened it christmas morning ... how disappointing would that be!

My sister bought this for my niece as a gift right before our family reunion. My niece insisted on running it at bedtime every night. It was great fun and gave off enough light that it shown on areas 15+ feet away. I was especially appreciative that the colors were not too bright as to keep the kids up all night. We ran it for 8-9 hours at a time and it didn't get hot to the touch. Everything came in perfect working order.
