Does the grip come off easily ? If not needed anymore ?

Yes. In fact, the grip comes off easily even when you want it to stay on! I don’t recommend this product.

Any recommendations on how to keep it on even after using a hair dryer?

Repeat that step of the installation a total of 3 times and the grip will adhere. If the grip does not adhere there is a possibility that there was still residual oil or grease on the handle that would have required further cleaning.
