I can use this flag on either side. It works great. No tools required. Color has held up fine as expected. It has been up for a year and a half and still flagging strong.

We always had issues with our plastic mailbox flag since we moved two years ago (it had no stop and its screws could not be tightened, so the flag always hung down and would not stay up well), although the mailbox was in good shape. Well the flag finally fell off. I thought it best to try to replace the flag instead of the entire mailbox. This mailbox flag had good reviews and for good reason. It is fairly easy to install, the entire assembly is metal, it has a stop (no more hanging down), and it locks into place when up. So glad that we were forced to get a new mailbox flag ... we are better off. Don't hesitate to purchase if you think this will work for your standard residential mailbox.

This replacement mailbox flag has been a really good purchase. I have an oversized mailbox for parcels and the flag was made very well, it was attached with small nuts & bolts. The problem came when a silicone washer that helped hold the flag up actually dry rotted & fell off, making the flag unusable. I ordered this replacement and I'm glad I did. I had it installed in 5 minutes. the two-sided mounting tape is very sturdy (and thick). Just make sure you clean the surface of the mailbox well in the area you will be mounting the flag. I used an old rag and rubbing alcohol to clean the mailbox & the mack of the mounting plate of the flag. It was about 75 degrees on the day I installed it. I pressed it on, making sure it was straight, and I held it in place for about 30 seconds. I rained really hard about an hour later, and several days after installation. It never moved. I like the fact that this flag can be mounted in multiple alternative positions, shown on the included instructions, depending on your specific needs. I don't think you'll go wrong with this flag replacement. I'm really pleased with it.

Comes with adhesive card to install on smooth surfaces. Used this on our brick column by using an appropriate screw. Works well and is easy to see. Great value for price.
