The product description of this item is very misleading. It says it is 1" but the diameter of the thread is in fact 1.5"Before ordering, we measured the diameter of our outside tap to be 1" so ordered this item. It was only upon trying to fit it to our outside tap that we realised it is too big and when we measured the connector it is 1.5". It really should be made clearer in the description and on the packaging. So that is a waste of £4.99 plus £4.99 P&P. Very disappointing and annoying.

This is not so much a complaint about the product as about the description - which Amazon should really address. It says it is for a 1" tap [which is what I had], so I added it to my basket! After it arrived I though, that's big! It is 33mm. For the information of everyone at Amazon and/or Hozelock there are 25.4mm to an inch NOT 33! Get your maths sorted. Not impressed.

As many other reviewers have mentioned (and I should have taken notice) this adapter does not actually measure 1”. It is a metric near-miss for 1” and thus does not fit my tap so is completely useless. I have spent about 2 months communicating with Hozelock, who have done their best to be helpful, but it seems they do not actually make an adapter to fit their hose to a 1” imperial measure old fashioned outdoor tap like mine so the hosepipe I bought has been next to useless. Fortunately it has rained loads since I bought it!

I ordered a 1 inch tap connector for a tap with a 1 inch width to its threaded outlet spout. It said it is for a 1 inch width tap on the packet, but the connector itself is 1.25 inches on its internal width which has the thread. It is therefore too big for the stated size of tap it is for

This is the thing you need to attach your standard 1/2" garden hose with Hozelock fittings to a dirty water pump.They never include this with those pumps because obviously:1) this won't let through dirty particles, so if you pump dirty water the pump will likely get stuck. Fine for pumping clean water though.2) people will complain about the lack of water flow. Dirty water pumps are HIGH flow volume LOW pressure pumps; connecting 1/2" hose accessories to a dirty water pump wont work. 1/2" hose accessories are for mains water supply (medium pressure & medium flow). Pressure washer accessories are for pressure washers (high pressure, low flow).So as long as you know what to expect this will do what you need it to when connecting to a dirty water pump (pump clean water at a low flow rate and low pressure).
