Updated review from a very happy customer !The radio wouldn't charge at all. I tried three USB wall chargers and nothing. So about all the other features, I have no clue. The companys customer care response was excellent !!!! I probably just got a bad unit.7/17/2019 The company, I-Tentek, sent me a new unit and it works wonderfully ! I am really impressed with the sound for the size of the radio/speaker. The radio reception is great with an aux line in as an antenna. The manual is easy to read and follow directions. It took me a little time to get it right but is as easy as any other date/time setting once you figure it out ! The two separate alarm settings are easy to configure and the display shows when they are on/off. I have used the USB mode and wow, it worked like a charm and you can advance to a different song. It does not display what is playing or artist, but for the price I didn't expect that.I love that the time, date and temp display go dim all on its own and wakes up when you touch the top for a brighter display when needed. This feature is better than the ones you have to set to your liking !Bluetooth connects with ease and there is no irritating voice announcer informing you what's going on, just nice little bells ! A huge plus !I like everything about this radio/speaker and everything is working well. I also want to add that the company has exceptional customer service and goes all out to make sure you are happy with your purchase !

Purchased this unit as a replacement of similar model, that we actually used it up and wore it out from use of several years of daily playing. Even better with this unit that now has display for display of radio station frequency numbers.Really love the many functions and great sound.

I really want to give this five stars, but there are a couple of things that keep it from that. First, the lack of a shuffle feature is rather annoying--when I have several hundred songs on a card or a flash drive, I don't really want to listen to them in the same order. Second, I really wish there were a headphone jack--if I want to listen to the music and my wife doesn't, I have to turn it off and use something else that allows me to use headphones. The third issue isn't that big of a deal, but for me it's important--the minimum volume is a bit louder than I would like. The volume buttons change the volume in increments, and the last one before silence is a bit louder than I'd like, especially late at night or early in the morning. It's a bit too loud to go to sleep to, for example. I mention these things only in case someone trying to make a decision finds them important. Overall, though, I really like the unit--it's easy to use, it sounds great, and the battery life seems to be quite good. It's really close to being great.

One day, I thought to myself, wouldn't it be great to not jump through ridiculous hoops when I want to play a particular audio file. I don't want to keep my phone by my bed to transmit to a speaker via bluetooth. I don't want to connect to a server or be limited to what a "smart" speaker can play. I just want a speaker that plays a specific track that I want to hear. I have a mix of white noise sounds and isochronic beats (binaural beats played in the open air) that help me to sleep. It is so complicated to get any other speaker to play what I want to play. The closest is playing it as a YouTube playlist on the TV, but then the TV is on all night. Too complicated.This speaker solves all of these problems. I made a 10 hour version of my sleep audio track, turned it into an mp3 (about 1 to 1.5 Gb), and put it on a USB. Later, I got a micro SD and put it on that so nothing would be sticking out of the back. All I do is turn on the speaker and it plays my track. No problems. I have memorized the four buttons on top that I need to know, volume and skip, and everything is good. I use it plugged in, but I have used it on battery, and it seems to be fine running all night on a full charge.If you have mp3s and you know how to put them on a USB or micro SD drive, this speaker saves a lot of trouble in certain cases. No need for internet or complicated workarounds. It works as expected.

The only reason I purchased this was for the USB playback capabilities. I don't need blue tooth and I don't even own micro SD cards. I have no need for or interest in the radio. I only want a USB music player. As stated, in the middle of a song, for no reason, the music will pause for 3-5 seconds. This happens repeatedly and completely ruins the listening experience. This happened with all USB drives that I tried. I won't even speculate as to what the issue is. I can only say that if you are looking for a USB music player this won't do it.I would have subtracted 2 points anyway for the requirement that the USB drives be fat32 formatted. This is annoying, but may not be an issue for other potential users.If all you need is a powered speaker, then the sound quality of this little unit is fairly impressive. It's neither boomy nor tinny with a nice balanced sound. This is a shame given that it's functionally useless to me.
