Great change up.
Great salt with a sophisticated flavor. I put it on melon, apple slices, radishes, and other fruits and veggies.

Subtle but now our preferred choice
I was hesitant to buy this given other reviews about the lack of taste. And if you want a strong seasoning, keep in mind this is salt.Very, very good salt. Not powdery. The taste is indeed subtle but certainly there, and adds a richness and fresh taste to food that now has us using this salt for everything instead of normal table salt. Well worth giving it a try for ourselves and we will definitely be ordering again in the future once this bag runs out.-This is unground salt that we put in a shaker to grind down more finely for use.

Hawaiian Coarse Sea Salt with Bamboo Leaf Extract...
I like this Hawaiian Coarse Sea Salt with Bamboo Leaf Extract. It came in a sealed pouch that's resealable. See my pic. It has a definite scent that's hard to describe. It's a little like green tea, but I can only describe it as a slightly sweet herbal tea of some sort. ( I assume it would be like a bamboo leaf tea, since bamboo is what this has added to it.) Anyway, the scent is a bit overwhelming in the pouch, but not once it's on our plate. I think that, in order to be able to taste the unique flavor of this salt, this is best sprinkled atop finished dishes. This is a nice sea salt and I like that it has the extra nutrients from the bamboo leaf.

Almost resembles coarse brown sugar
Though you would not want a spoonful of this in your coffee, it has the look of coarse brown sugar in size, shape, although the colour is off.On opening the bag, and taking a giant sniff, i can definitely detect a green grassy note, very tempting smell actually. But on tasting it (raw from the bag) all i taste is salty. I’m no aficionado, but i imagine that on adding a quantity to cooked dishes, any notes may be more apparent. I agree with one reviewer who said it almost has a smoky flavour.I do find the smell of it very tempting, and am looking forward to seeing what it does for my curries, and soups. I do enjoy having a variety of salts and peppers, its an easy way to amp up the flavour of most food. I was told by a chef that a common mistake made by home cooks is that we tend to underseason food, and of course the 1st place to start is salt and pepper. It was a very good tip, and helped my home cooked dishes enormously. It’s way more fun when you have different salts ad peppers to experiment with though. This isn’t one I’d use as a sprinkle on food after it’s served, i don’t think I’d like the big crunchy crystals, and would find them offputting. I do thin though, that used in cooking, they will definitely add a certain flavour not found in any of my other salts.I’m putting this in Butter Chicken tonight. Yum

Good salt with a great flavor, just do not smell the bag.
When I opened this and smelled the inside of the bag I thought I was going to be in for one rough ride. IT seriously smells terrible but done let that dissuade you the salt is actually very good. It has a slightly smokey taste to it. We had it on potatoes and it added that smokey taste. I can see this as a niche salt for subtle flavors just do not smell the inside of the bag.
