A great design. This is a perfect timepiece for everyday wear. Provides a dressy look with a sporty feel! Victorinox Swiss Army – HistoryMaster Cutler Karl Elsener opened a cutlery shop in Ibach, Switzerland in 1884. Seven years later, in 1891, Karl supplied the Swiss Army with its standard issue Soldier’s Knife. After the death of his mother in 1909, Karl Elsener introduced the brand name Victoria and the iconic Cross and Shield emblem is registered as a trademark. With the advent of stainless steel, Karl Elsener coined the company’s name, Victorinox, by combining his mother’s name with “inox”, an abbreviation of the French word for rust-resistant steel, “inoxydable”. After World War II, the “Original Swiss Army Knife” began its successful progression around the world and enjoyed exceptional popularity. In 1989, Victorinox entered the timepiece business in the United States under the brand name “Swiss Army”. Ten years later, Victorinox joined the Travel Gear market, partnering with TRG Group in St. Louis. And in 2001, Victorinox fashion was introduced in the US to further capture the brand’s essence of practical luxury. In 2002, in order to promote global unity, the Victorinox Swiss Army timepiece brand was launched internationally. In 2007, Victorinox set up Victorinox Swiss Army Fragrance AG, and in 2009 Victorinox Swiss Unlimited was launched. 2014 marks Victorinox Swiss Army’s 130th anniversary, and each Victorinox Swiss Army product embodies the spirit of the Legendary Original Swiss Army Knife, a universal symbol of Functionality, Innovation, Quality and Iconic Design.Brand ValuesFUNCTIONALITYOur Victorinox Swiss Army timepieces are designed to optimize their usefulness. VERY nice watch
I sent this watch to my father for his birthday last year. I've seen him several times since then, and he loves this watch, and I'm impressed, too. I picked it because it had a large very legible face, and in person it is even more legible than it looked on the web. The watch is also a bit larger than I thought it was (some mfrs measure the entire case, others just the face), but the size is fine, no problem with it. It's a very handsome watch in person, too, and my father delightedly reports that it keeps excellent time, too. Definitely recommended.By the way, my dad also loves joking that the only thing about the watch that he doesn't love, is that he's concerned that if Switzerland ever goes to war, he might be called up for service. :-)

Nice watch, ugly strap
This watch was a steal for a Victorinox product, but the strap it came with was no good. First off it's a chocolate brown strap on a black dial watch which doesn't really match all that well. Also, it didn't smell like leather, more of a synthetic chemical odor. Didn't matter much because I quickly swapped the strap out for a 20mm military green Nato strap and now I have a great casual watch that I can wear all summer. End of the day, the whole thing cost me under $90.

A great watch for the $.
Worn this watch for two weeks straight now and I think its a wonderful watch. Time keeping isexcellent (it's lost two seconds in two weeks compared to my casio atomic). Easy to read dial (I hatea dial cluttered up or numerals that aren't easily reconized at a glance). Sized right at 40mm (Ihave small wrists but I like large watches, this is a great size for me). Pretty good lum. (after 6hrs of darkness you can still pick up the time, though it will take a bit of focus) didn't expectmuch for this price point.Only dislike was the band, I prefer a nylon type strap. Found a good compromise with a replacementtimex expedition strap.

If you like stylish simplicity this is a nice
If you like stylish simplicity this is a nice watch. Easy to see in both the light and dark. The 24 hour time inner dial is a plus if you travel a lot. The only negative is that the band was not well constructed. The band end restraining loops deteriorated quickly and the band itself came apart in less than a year.

Not Water Resistant
This watch looks great, but it's not water resistant as claimed. The first time I took it with me into the pool, it got moisture inside, and stopped working. The retailer, Jomashop, refused to honor the warranty and now the watch is dead. Don't buy this watch if you need a water resistant watch and don't buy from Jomashop if you have any concerns about trying to make a warranty claim.

Watch has thin band that is difficult to fasten.
I liked the simplicity of the watch and the ease in viewing the dial. The band, while nice in appearance, seems to be made of very thin leather and is difficult to fasten.

Excellent delivery, price, but tracking down repair service a nightmare!
I at one time gave a nice interview, as my "Swiss Army Garrison Watch" arrived quickly, in perfect condition. But the minute I needed the watch repaired, It was a maze between "Amazon TV" "Jomashop" as to should have to repair the "watch".Jomashop, where I bought the watch, as a "Amazon linked seller" stated they only had to honor a (30 day) warranty period, so Amazon helped by telling me to mail to one the "Authorized Repair Service" they have contracted, with no postage, as they honor a (30-day) warranty period, despite is give no number of days in terms of repair coverage. In fact the Technical Representative at (Amazon.com) stated they are no longer a linked Vendor to (Amazon.com) but in closing, the items at (Jomashop) are shipped, good deals, if you never have to have your "timepiece".

Great Watch.
This is a great understated watch. Really like the look and style. I slightly better band (more like in the picture) and it would have got 5 stars.
