First of all, these devices aren’t that different. The control layout, functions and software are the same apart from the opening screens. They are both made in Hong Kong by Fangor so why not call them that? Wonnie sounds like the nickname a 3-year old male would give his penis (“Mommy, I got my Wonnie stuck in my zipper!”) and GOnavidio sound close to Gonad Video, which I think I prefer anyway. The Japanese auto industry maintained its dignity in naming its models after Italian or Southwestern cities for decades, so why does China, with its long association with the UK not do the same with the vast English vocabulary to choose from (Gristle, perineum, Giggleswick, smegma)? If they called these products the Smegma range of Blu-Ray players, I’d order a container of them tomorrow.I digress. The bottom line is even in efficient production lines, things like screens vary. The Gonad screen color balance was muddy (especially greens), as was the aspect ratio which stretched the vertical slightly, making actors look taller and slimmer. This does not bother some people(Marvel Video fans, small children in the back of SUVs) but it bugs the hell out of me. The Wonnie had the superior color and no distortion so was the winner. These things are subjective, however, and may vary from individual unit to unit so you may have to order several and get the one that pleases you the most. You can theoretically change the Brightness/Contrast/Hue/sharpness in the Setup menu, but their effects are slightThe speakers of both models are tinny and evoke 1940’s railroad public address systems (“ The treme on plufmo siz is boon fo Ner Sore via Buctor and Trenon”). Well, I exaggerate, but even inexpensive laptops these days have decent speakers. Use earphones or earbuds which work great with wither machines.It’s a bit subjective, but for me the Gonad was a little too large, and it’s screen not acceptable, so Wonnie’s more petite stance and superior screen makes it the the keeper. Should I use it on Jury Duty, however, I will put black tape over the Wonnie logo emblazoned on the device’s top. Or maybe not. What lawyer would select a juror with a blatantly displayed Wonnie?

It seemed a bit involved, but my son figured it out. Had done research before buying regarding world region it would play etc. Anyway, happy with the player except volume. One of the English subtitle options actually plays the volume louder. I wish it had blutooth

Seems to be working well; wish it had a little better picture (colors do not pop on this screen like on a smart TV, they appear a bit pale). Hope I get a lot of use out of it, as it is my only DVD player at the moment. Very lightweight - I handle it carefully. Wish the screen size was 17" but that was not an option. Has a remote. Would recommend.

I would say over all the WONNIE is ok. I like that you can play Blu ray, DVD, CDs, and digital media. I had some sound issues and requested a replacement. I am giving the WONNIE a five star rating because of the product support. I am happy that WONNIE replaced my unit.

I went through a couple of Portable DVD players before I settled on the Wonnie Blu-Ray with a 14.1 inch screen. While I found that a player with a 10.2" screen displayed a very good picture, I found it to be too small for my tastes. I am very pleased with the Wonnie 14.1 inch size and picture. I recently watched the movie "DUNKERK" on the Wonnie and it looked beautiful.Mastering the settings and controls of the Wonnie are a challenge and require your determination. One of my big concerns about this is the ability to make adjustments to the TV picture itself - being able to adjust the color level if it is too saturated. On page 22 of the User Manual is where you will want to access the Display Settings. Click on the top of the page where you see a gray box and an icon of a TV screen. From there you can reach the area where you can adjust Brightess, Contrast, Hue, and Saturation.What about audio : Lets face it, you're not going to get great audio if you just listen with the small built in speakers...I use headphones. Amazon is a great place to check out headphones - with prices to fit your budget. Also, another plus here: You might want to get a "Volbox" (product name). You connect it from the headphone OUT to the IN input of the "VOLBOX" and from the OUT of the "VOLBOX" directly into your headphone. WHAT DOES IT DO? It allows you to increase or decrease the volume level - gives you a nice little boost in sound. I had the playerbfor about a week and was a little concerned when I put a brand new dvd in the player and it freezes up. Keeping and eye on it and using it for several more movies it worked fine and now I play another brand new columbo dvd and it sticks again so bad that I literally had to shut the player down. Pretty disappointed making a decision to send it back

Received my portable DVD today, it was ordered last night. Big screen size. Sound is fine, and I used my headphones as well. User's manual was included in the box, along with 12V car charger, remote, and AVI cable. An HDMI cable is not included, so you will have to purchase one if you want to display on your big-screen TV. In order to use the remote you have to aim it directly at the sensor. Just a little above or below, it doesn't register. The memory save only works as long as the player is on. If you switch it off and expect it to resume when you turn the player back on, it has lost the memory save location. We are planning on a cruise, and want to take along some DVD's. This will be perfect.

Opened the box, set it up, put in a DVD and didn't work. Tried operating manually on the player, didn't work. Inserted new batteries on the remote control and it didn't work. Don't waste your money on this players.
