Tile Redi 4060CBF-PVC Shower Pan with Center Drain- Barrier Free Shower Base, 2" PVC Drain, and Plate Included, 60" Width x 40" Depth

We have stalled for so many years about doing something about our avocado green bathroom from the late 60's. We've had a long time to consider what we could do to make the home sell later on if we removed the bathtub completely. But now, with our son being 27 years old, it has become impossible for one person to shower him even with the life-saving system that holds him over the toilet and then with a metal "bridge" thing that allows us to "slide" his bath-seat over to the bathtub side, trying not to hurt him while lifting his legs over the side of the tub. A difficult job, due to his spasticity. While he enjoys this process, good ol' Mom and Dad (Guardians) are paying the physical price. So, with all the claw-foot and freestanding tubs on the market, we figured that we would finally go for it and remove the tub so we can just roll him into the shower. We haven't installed the pan yet, but Amazon had it to us in 3 days and in excellent condition. My poor contractor could not understand the concept of barrier-free access, but by studying the Redi web site, he came to realize it would not be difficult with this pan. So, in the next 3-4 weeks, we will finally have the roll-in shower we have wanted sine 1995! One other thing was that my contractor said I should buy it directly from the manufacturer to save costs. I found some very low prices for the unit, but they all had extremely high shipping. With Amazon.com, I not only had it in 3 days, but I saved over $100 PLUS shipping that it would have taken to buy it directly. And I know the shipping was faster than they ever could have done. Would definitely buy this exact item again for anyone I know who needs a walk-in shower!

More difficult to install than I expected, you need really get you mud consistancy right (thin but not watery).

The dimensions are of by 1/2" now we have to built out the wall. The curb is almost 2", so even thought we recessed the floor there is still 1.5". Hardly curbless. Had to order a tileable curb to bring the floor height up to the shower base, which totally defeats the wrote propose of recessing the floor. No where in the specs/description does it say it will not be level with your sub floor. Would not call this barrier free.

We have only begun our project, but the plan is as described. Only complaint, is that the epoxy that was shipped with it leaked. I am assuming it's the bag that leaked. As we have only just unpacked after receiving some time ago, I have not asked for more stuff. Hopefully we still have enough.

I did not install this myself. And probably wouldn't recommend this installation unless you're very experienced. Took a lot of prep work, but the results were definitely worth it. I love my curbless shower.

Amazing! Best idea ever especially with the tileable grate. Installed one of these in each of my two bathrooms during a recent remodel.

Great! I have used Tile Ready before, never had a problem. much better then building a shower pan on site. It saves so much time.
