What so many others are saying is true, the strap and velco section are very poorly designed, who knows why that hasn't been changed after years of reviews saying so? So therefore if you require the hat to stay on your head through crashing waves for instance, if you're a surfer let's say, then you'd better purchase another cap OR, you can do what I did which is to sew 2 inches of the strap together in a sort of loop, just before the velcro starts. This will shorten the strap by a couple inches which is just the amount needed for the strap and velcro to work properly. Now I can keep my hat securely on my head whilst I surf and bodyboard, and my head stays warmer as a result.

I love this! Why did I wait so long to get one. My head stayed comfortable plus added bonus of my goggles being safe in case I get kicked in the head:)I put my regular cap on, then goggles then warm cap. I thought the chin strap would bug me, but I didn’t even notice it. Totally forgot I had it on. Soooooo glad someone suggested this cap, it was not too expensive and made my swim sweet!I have an average woman’s head, I don’t remember my measurements. I’m 5’8”, 150-155 pounds, I ordered a Medium.

Used it during a CHILLY open water practice swim in a mountain lake. I was so glad I had it! I've done chilly swims without one and immediately noticed the difference! I really like the adjustable strap too. It's a fastens in place with velcro for just the right fit. Also, it was very well priced! A good investment for anyone who wants a warm head during a cold swim!

I measured my head and I'm about 22 1/4", but ordered a large to accommodate my hair. It's still tight, but more importantly, it seems to fit crooked (I'm pretty sure it's not my head) and I can't get the strap in a place that is tolerable. I tried it forwards and backwards, and forward the strap cuts into my throat but backwards it's crawling up my face. The velcro bit is far too long, too, so when I have the strap adjusted the right length, there's a long tail hanging off and the velcro doesn't overlap much so it doesn't seem very secure. I think this might have been made for coneheads. I'm returning for another style.

The strap is WAY too long! It would need velcro all the way by the ear for the cap to even stay on my head, let alone be tight enough to warm the water. Worthless.

It gets the job done. I’m not sure why but I feel like the front of the cap doesn’t go far enough forward and it slips back easily. Also in certain positions the chin strap feels like it’s choking me and in others it too big. It gets the job done of preventing my hair getting caught where the snorkel and mask meet.

I was between 2 Sizes and went Large! It fits but a bit looser than what I would like! I should have ordered the smaller size! I love the fit and feel though. It does not feel heavy or overpowering! I will definitely recommend this product and order it again! I will comment more in time and speak of wear and if my opinion "develops" any further. My first opinion is to BUY IT NOW!

Bought this to help stay warm while scuba diving. I liked it and it did help on 10 dives. As other reviewers stated, there should be more velcro on the chin strap so you can tighten it more. I will probably add my own velcro for future use. Good product for the price.

I use this to limit water movement in my ear canals, and to protect my ears and head from sunburn. It's thin enough to wear with a dive skin in warm water, and thick enough (for me anyway) for cold water down to about 7C. Threading the chin strap through the ring can be a challenge with dry gloves so just have to remember to hood up first. As it stretches out over time and use, air can sometimes work itself underneath but the bubble is easy to vent and minimized by rolling the front edge up a bit. Down in the Caribbean they're a favourite piece of leave-behind kit with dive masters, so I'm glad I can find replacements here at a reasonable price.

Product worked great. Used this for the swim in SF Bay during the Escape from Alcatraz race. Kept my bald head toasty warm. Although I use it only for ocean swims, it may be appropriate as a winter cap for people who frequent Walmart late on Friday nights.Disclaimer: review done by a Canadian. You may freeze your butt off using this.

It is very good to have when water is cold and you need to fall sometimes while windsurfing.

Works with mask well, if I wear it properly.

Neck strap doesn't tighten well -- the Velcro isn't placed quite right. Even so, it's comfortable and does the job.
