Q: How deep are the compartment?

About a tube of lipstick on it's side, or two slim compacts on top of each other. The top one is about 1.5-2 inches from the top deep and fits a lot more.

Q: What are the dimensions of the bottom, beneath the trays?

The whole box is 9”x12”x8.5”. The bottom under the drawers is about 4” deep. Its pretty big.

Q: Will bottles of nail polish stand up in the bottom?

Absolutely! I can stand some of my smaller eyeshadow palettes up in the bottom even. Love this case!
