Fit my ColdSteel Training Sword perfectly.
This saya seems as if it is made for this specific polypropylene sword, being a pleasantly perfect fit with no need to in any way warp the saya: “Cold Steel Bokken Martial Arts Training Sword 92BKKC Polypropylene.“ For my practice (Gum-Do), this product works perfectly and it’s textured plastic build seems thick enough to last a long time with proper care. I love especially that it matches the color of the Cold Steel bokken, my uniform color, and that it fits the sword perfectly without much resistance. This says will definitely NOT fit a Cold Steel O-Bokken without severely warping (damaging) it with a heat gun but it will fit typical standard length wooden bokkens (up to a little more than 41” in full length) without resistance. None of my bokkens “lock” into the saya at all except the older Cold Steel polypropylene bokken that doesn’t have the simulated cord wrapped handle (which seems harder to find now). I enjoy and highly recommend this product for other sword training enthusiasts.

A for looks, B- for durability
It is a nice looking product. It doesn't look like cheap plastic at all. I can tell that they spent time designing this to look presentable. I would have liked it more if they made the plastic much thicker. I would have paid a little more for a more heavy duty one. Now that I have this, I wish that Cold Steel would make polypropylene sayas for their samurai polypropylene trainers. I did buy this for the Cold Steel Bokken. It fits nicely. It becomes snug in the saya when it is about 7/10ths into the saya, so it definitely won't come out even if you turned it upside down and shook it wildly up and down. I didn't put the hand guard and rubber holder on my Bokken, but it still fits nicely with about an inch inside to spare before the tip of the bokken touches the end of the saya, with the beginning of the Bokken handle resting right against the mouth of the saya (I don't take Japanese swordsmanship so I don't know the proper terms). As for using the smaller Cold Steel Wakizashi in this, it fits slightly loosely and will rattle and fall out because there is no friction/snugness. You might bend/damage this saya if you handle it very roughly like swing it against a wall. It would have been much nicer if they thickened the plastic layer by 5x at least, but overall it's ok since this is the only product out there like this. Manufacturer be advised though, I'd pay a little more for a heavier duty saya, as for looks great job.

Fits cold steel bokken
I bought this to fit my cold steel polypropylene bokken and it fits perfectly. It's a little bit tight but I think it will loosen with use. My only complaint is that the plastic is super thin and flimsy so I'm not sure how long it will last.

I'm using this with the Cold Steel Bokken.
When it arrived, it was curved, but in the direction opposite to what is required for the cold steel bokken. It is not the sturdiest of saya, but I am satisfied, and am using it with the cold steel bokken.I had to grease up the bokken with olive oil, and then it would insert. I also flattened parts of the saya as it was rounder than was required for fit. Yes it was not a perfect fit out of the box, but a little encouragement and it is working out well. Snug for now and needs the thumb to unlock similar to real katana. It would be nice to have a real saya of wood that would fit the cold steel bokken, but I have not seen one yet, so this will surfice in the mean time.5 stars for being the only saya available for the cold steel bokken!Happy slashing!!

Honestly, kind of cheap plastic for a $25 case.
Doesn't even fit the battan right. It's overpriced and not that great really. I wouldn't suggest it for training or for a child's wooden battan...my son had rammed his battan into this sheath to try to make it fit, then fell over trying to pull it back out( funny, but still ....it just isn't a great product)

Good Saya
This Saya fit my Bakken well. I got the Bokken from Karate Mart online. It is a Red Oak Bokken. The curve on the blade of the bokken was greater than the curve of the Saya. The bokken is plastic. I put the bokken all the way into the Saya and set it in my trunk for a couple of days of 95 degree temperature. The fit is much better now. I would buy again in Summer!

SAYA RELIEF!!
I purchased four of these sayas from ebogu for my son, his instructor and myself. I first tried it with my wooden bokkens (3) and I was definitly impressed with it in that capacity. When I first tried it on my Cold Steel Bokken it did not work as I had thought it would. I sprayed a little teflon into one saya and streched one with an oversized wooden bokken to make the Cold Steel Bokken fit properly. But after playing with it I realized that once it had been sheathed and drawn a few times it started to work better. Granted it will only sheath to the Hamon and not the Suba. That was better in the long run, as it requires thumb pressure to release the blade as with a real one. So good on practicing a quick draw! And it looks great especially with the wide strap that comes with each unit. Price is not bad for what it is. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best, I would give it a solid 8.5 on its use, a 6 on cost, a 9 on looks, and a 10 on communications, service, and the delivery time! It's worth it in the end. Thank you, Thomas
