EzyDogDrive Dog Car Harness – Crash Tested and Certified (US-FMVSS 213) Dog Seat Belt Harness for Safe Travel, Adjustable with Padded Comfort (Small)

I hope I never have to find out that this works as promised because that means I crashed my car. When this arrived it took me almost an hour to adjust and readjust and readjust the strap lengths to fit my dog perfectly. The straps come with visibly printed tick marks with numbers on it like a ruler which made adjusting it easier and more scientific. If the tick marks weren't there this would have been much harder to adjust. Once adjusted to my dogs size it fits perfectly snug and comfortable. It is very strong and durable and looks like a VERY SAFE seatbelt for my dog who is an 85 lbs American Bulldog mix. I got the LARGE and I'd say as fat as my dog is (She's a little chubby) I'm only using half of the length of availalbe strap length. The rest rolls up and is held in place by velcro so it doesn't dangle. Well designed.

I bought two of these harnesses after I was in a car accident with my dogs in the car. We were rear ended while they were wearing their regular harnesses hooked to a Kurgo seatbelt clip. I realized that the set up that I had for them was fine for a low speed crash (that totaled my 12 yr old car), but not good enough for a more serious car accident. These harnesses adjust and then are set for the next use. I just have the dog step into the harness, clip it in the back, then put the seatbelt through the harness loops and clip the seatbelt. The dogs are not pleased at the new system because they can’t look out the window or turn around on the seat, but I will keep using these harnesses for safety. The hardware and craftsmanship of these harnesses is wonderful and the fact that they have been crash tested is reassuring. Honestly, the car accident scared me badly enough that I now use these EVERY time that I put my dogs in the car and especially when I get on the freeway with them in the backseat. Highly recommend these harnesses for dog safety in the car.

Overall, this product works great. When we're driving along he's pretty relaxed in it. It's restrictive buckling your dog in with the seatbelt, but that's kind of the point.I highly recommend that you pick a side of the car for your dog to be on at all times with this. I usually clip him in on the rear passenger side. At first he would sometimes try to turn around and get tangled behind the belt. He got used to it though and no longer got tangled. However, I switched him to the driver's side one time and it confused him...got tangled again.The other thing is that he can slip out of it if he's determined enough. If I step out of the vehicle at all, I'll find him out of the harness by the time I'm back. I go off roading sometimes and step out to spot somebody. He'll be sitting in the front seat when I get back.

I needed a safety harness for the dog. She liked to move around too much while driving. Very distracting when she would come stand on the front seat arm rest and start licking your ear.The EzyDog Drive Safety Travel Dog Car Harness is well made and easy to adjust on the dog with the number markings on the straps. My dog appears to be comfortable in the harness and when buckled in, either sits or lays on the back seat without any issues. I was surprised she took to wearing it in the car so quickly. The double D rings on the harness make it easy to clip her leash to, and take her to and from the car.Driving with her is much more enjoyable now that I don't have to worry about her safety. To keep the seat belt from locking when she moved I did buy a clip for the belt to keep it from retracting too much. It's set with just enough slack to allow her to sit and lay down.

My dog loves it. He appears to feel more confident and laid back in truck. It is super built. I feel very safe with my dog in it, he really seems to like being tethered in also.

It’s important to follow the instructions in sizing and adjusting the straps for your dog’s comfort and safety. Once fitted correctly, putting it on is a snap. I highly recommend this item. I feel my dog is now very safe riding in the car.

I bought the harness to keep my dog safe on a long (12 hr) car trip. I do not recommend that anyone buy or use this product.I ignored all the many reviews on Amazon that already stated that dogs were slipping out of this harness while they were buckled into the car seatbelt. I read all the responses from the company that said the users must not have tightened the harness correctly.I SHOULD NOT HAVE IGNORED THOSE REVIEWS AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU.My dog has never backed out of *any* harness--so I really did not think I would have a problem. We spent considerable time measuring my dog for the correct fit and adjusted all the straps following the instructions, making sure it was tight enough, and testing it in our house and yard before using it in the car.MY DOG EASILY AND QUICKLY GOT OUT OF THIS HARNESS FOUR SEPARATE TIMES DURING OUR ONE-DAY CAR TRIP.Not only that, but the harness pulled my dog's collar off with it! There is nothing worse than driving down a highway and suddenly having a dog completely loose in the car and not even having a collar to hold on to!!!!How did this happen--despite spending considerable time making sure that the harness fit properly and was as tightly adjusted as physically possible without hurting my dog????Easy. The harness is very stiff and the material is somewhat slippery. It is made that way on purpose as a supposed "safety feature." As a result, when the vehicle seatbelt strap is buckled through the handles, all the dog has to do is flatten itself against the harness, which is now immovable and which does not bend with the contours of the dog's body, and the harness itself becomes leverage. The dog then simply moves backwards and voila! It happened so fast we didn't even see it!As I said, this happened four times within one day of driving. My adult daughter was sitting in the back seat supervising the dog. We checked the harness each time my dog got out of it to ensure it was tight enough and properly buckled in.Shame on this company for repeatedly shaming their customers for "not using the harness properly" when they clearly did not design a safe product.The most dangerous product is one that claims to be super safe and "crash tested" but actually does not work properly in the situation in which it was designed to be used!No amount of "crash testing" can make up for not actually testing the product on real dogs in real scenarios to make sure it actually works as designed. Or--God forbid--actually listening to customer feedback and making changes to the product.Spending $125 on this product is unwise and unsafe and a waste of your money.You will be better off spending $30 on a harness clip that connects your dog's regular harness to the seatbelt buckle.Thankfully, I had thought to bring ours as a backup. That's what actually kept our dog safe on our long trip-- and on our regular trips around town before and since buying this unsafe "safety" harness.Don't buy this product. You will regret it.

My dog is my world. 10lb mini shihtzu. he always has this harness on when in the car in his own seat.i do really like the product and i have peace of mind knowing he will be safer in the event of an accident, i am happy with the purchase.that being said -it does fit a bit stocky, definitely took some time for me to get used to it not sitting on him snug and moulded to his body like a regular soft harness.. i aaaalmost returned it..it did take a little while to find an adjustment that wasnt too tight or too loose that made me feel confident enough that it would work.It was a little frustrating as a first impression and Its still weird to me how awkward it sits on him BUT i do feel like it would be safer for him than a regular harness. it is very sturdy and firm! And despite it being a bit bulky on him, he doesnt seem to mind it when we go for rides or even long trips. he can lay down and sleep in it when in the car. i will try to post a video soon.

Well made and fits my Rottweiler well. Getting the adjustments right takes a little time but the instructions are clear and easy to follow. Looping a seatbelt through the harness is awkward and not ideal, especially if your dog is like mine and always sits on the seatbelt buckle!I use a large 20kN quick release karabiner as this allows a little more freedom for him to change position on longer journeys and is much easier to release him quickly if necessary.

I’ve just received the vehicle harness and used it for the first time today. The design and materials appear to be very high quality and well thought out. The harness I received was well constructed and very customizable to my puppy’s measurements with plenty of room for growth. One of the shoulder straps was sewn on backwards, so the measurement guide printed on the strap could not be seen. The numbered measurement guide help to adjust the straps evenly when fitting. It’s a little difficult to reposition the length of the straps, only because of the buckle securing the straps is of such a solid design. The hardware on this harness is the most heavy duty that I have ever seen on dog equipment. The extra length of strapping can be folded up and secured neatly out of the way with the attached Velcro tabs that completely cover the excess material. Very well thought out design. All of the seams are neat and precise. This is truly a professional level rig.Because my dog is being secured in back of a vehicle where the rear seats are folded down bellow the floor, I don’t have the option of threading the seat belt straps through the handles on top of the harness. I am attaching a heavy duty carabiner. I find the rolled handle design on each side of the top buckles a little awkward to attach the carabiner to - even though the carabiner is larger in size. For this reason I attached the carabiner to the 2 “D” rings located just under the handles. These are good and solid but it would be helpful if they were a little larger. These “D” rings are meant for attaching a lead, but are well placed for attaching a seat belt clip or the drop down leash from the Kurgo zip line.The harness is well padded. While the memory foam is compressed, it still provides some cushioning and offers really good support & coverage in the chest and back area.I think this vehicle harness is worth the investment for optimal safety of pets riding in a vehicle. It’s certainly the best constructed harness I’ve ever seen, with the highest grade of materials. It looks like it it should maintain its structure and good condition for the lifetime of my large breed dog. This is definitely the high level equipment I want for my very large and very strong pup. I wish more equipment and supplies of this calibre where available for our animal family members.I hope to update this review when the harness has been in use for a period of time.
