Nintendo of America Joy-Con (L)/(R) AA Battery Pack - Nintendo Switch;

So I got these mostly because my hands are big, and I wanted to play Mario Odyssey on Joy-Cons like it recommends. Then something occurred to me- The pointer controls when you are using the telescope thingy are dedicated to the right Joy-Con when it comes to motion controls. And the extra grip made them feel like some kind of next gen Wiimote and Nunchuck.Tried it on Breath of the Wild- same thing. All aiming controls were dedicated to the right Joy-Con. It could get a bit off center sometimes, but the recenter button and thumbstick fixed this. And aiming the bow with just my right hand felt SO MUCH BETTER than just using the thumstick or awkwardly tilting my Pro Controller.Tried it on Splatoon 2. I literally cannot play it any other way. The thing the Wiimote was best for was for pointing and shooting, and I loved using it in games that did just that. The Joy-Cons can be made to work the same way, and the Battery Pack gives it just enough heft not to feel off.TLDR version- If you have big hands and feel there's certain games you NEED to play on just the Joy-Cons, get this. Totally worth. The recharging thing is just a bonus.

The switch joy-cons alone are kind of small and uncomfortable to use. First I tried those rubber sleeves and then the plastic grips that snap on to the back of each joy-con. Neither of those really worked when using the joy-cons one in each hand. Even without the fact that these can charge the joy-con in times of need, they would be worth it. The added weight and thickness made the joy-cons WAY more comfortable and everything I wanted them to be. These are by far the best accessory I have purchased for my switch so far. If the controllers are too small for your hands I wouldn't hesitate buying these.

Works great, adds extra grip. It was very useful for a extra remote when your far from power, like camping. Fits comfortably in my hand for racing games and it comes with batteries if you need to use it right away.

I typically wear men’s L or XL gloves. They make the joycons so comfortable to hold.Do not hesitate to buy if you have bigger hands. These will get expensive soon with the switch cycling out

We got a pair of joy cons recently, and we got these to give us a better thing to hold for ergonomics.However, we had to ask for replacements because the wrist strap adjustable plastic bit just kept breaking from the inside. There was no way to fix it, and it happened to 4.5 of the 6 wrist straps (2 from the joy cons original straps, 2 from this item's straps, and 2 from the replacement straps). I say 0.5 because one of them was broken but semi-functional still, so we could salvage it a little.I ended up pulling out the iFixit kit and replacing the straps between them to at least have a pair of good straps for when we swing our arms. I don't know what's going on with quality assurance, but evidently this is a bit too frequent.I'd say you're better off getting straps some place else. The actual battery holding portions were fine, but my god.

The AA Joy Con grips do exactly what they're advertised to do. They give you more controller to grip onto and extend the battery life of the Joy Cons.The problem is that the Joy Cons already offer stellar battery life. So, why buy these?The real benefit is the added grip and weight (especially if you are using AA batteries). Joy Cons are small controllers, and you may find them more comfortable to use with the grips attached.You may want to consider consider 3rd party Joy Con alternatives instead of these grips, but this is a cheaper option and lets you use the controllers you already own.They fit my needs well, but they're not for everyone. I would only recommend these as grips and not as battery extenders, as this is a largely unnecessary feature.

The circle plastic stoppers for the wrist straps just snapped apart after a few months. These were never used, but it's a shame the quality isn't as good for the price

I wanted something that was more ergonomic than the tiny joycons, and this battery pack is the best thing I've found. I don't even put batteries in the pack, just use it as an ergonomic grip.My only con is that you can only use the battery pack in wireless mode, and can't connect the joycons to the switch for handheld mode. Other than that, these are great for bigger hands.
