Worth the money
Come on people. It's a $25 vise. Granted it's no Renzzeti. I bought it to leave on the boat to tie flies when we're in port. At night or on rainy days when your sitting in the cabin and looking for something to do. Granted it's not precision machined like my Renzetti but it wasn't $200 either. It does fine for a second vise. I've been tying flies for over fifty years. For $25 it works fine if you know what you are doing.

Simple,sturdy, dependable.
I don't really understand the number of negative reviews for this vise. I have owned this same model vise for close to ten years and have tied many flies for my personal use. The reason I bought another one, which I may add is identical in every way shape and form to my old one is so I can leave my original at home and carry this one when I travel. This is a simple yet sturdy vise and if you learn how to adjust it properly will last you a very long time. And one con to this vise is there are no instruction for a never used a vise before type tier to follow but there are tutorial videos on YouTube that will help you out.

Great quality nice price
Pretty awesome! I have been tying flies for ove 20 years and this is a great vice for the money. Works well and relatively easy to use. Quality craftsmanship and nice finish. Comes with a couple of extra noses with different profiles for different types of tying. Adjustments work well and rotating head works good. May buy a second vice for my kids to join in the fun.

Get what ya pay for.
Used this vise for a couple weeks while waiting on a giffin mongoose to arrive and it performed well for what it is. If you want to try a rotary on a budget its worth the money , the jaws hold well but are hard to release. If you are mechanically inclined with a few modifications it can be made very usable.

Good Value for the Money
Revised Sept. 2021While the price is attractive and it does work for fly tying, I had problems with some of the knurled nuts coming loose and falling on the floor. The fit of the parts is loose and requires constant tightening. I bought this vice after tying on the classic Thompson A vise for many years. Again, it served it's purpose but I have now moved up to a true rotary vise >$200.00 and the difference in my ability to tie has vastly improved. Again, for someone just starting out in fly tying this is a low cost vise that will work for them, but if you believe you well be tying for many years to come, step up to a true rotary vice.Overall I am pleased with this vice. The only minor issue is the fit of the vertical rod in the base. It is a bit sloppy but tightens good enough. I have been tying with it and it works well.

You get what you pay for
It does the job but My only con I have is the fit a finish. The spring clip that holds the vise head on the stem it practically none existent. So I opted to change it to a c-clip to keep it from Lateral movement while using the rotary option. Another one is the little brass nuts that hold the clamp handle came off. Now I have to be mindful where the screw position is on every before I clamp my hooks down. The little plate that's on the bottom c-clamp came off and I lost it. Seemed it was threaded on. So it some how unscrewed itself. Now it bore holes underside of my picnic table.

Great starter vise, but...
The clamp head (where you put the hook) isn't very secure, but it comes with 3 options so once the first is worn down i'll have replacements. Parts have started falling off the vice after about a month of use. Also, the neck of the vise is very short, so when you clamp on the edge of your table, you pretty much have to sit on the side of the table and anything that you cut off your fly will fall to the ground. Even with a basket under my vise, I end up with hair trimmings and dubbing all over my carpet. For a cheap vise, it does the trick. It even lets you spin the hook (my first vise couldn't rotate the hook without un-clamping).

It works well at a great entry level price
I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that it is a rotating vise. It works well at a great entry level price. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is it came with missing hardware.
