Opal bit the dust 4 years in, so checked for a new one and price had gone up so much. New model may have been better, but didn’t want to spend more for it. Read reviews on same type ice and this one seemed in the ballpark for over $200 less, but had only 3 reviews. I’m a gambler when I “have that right feeling”, and I took a chance. Had it over a week now and glad I gambled on it. Better ice, faster production, quieter, and has self cleaning. Old Opal didn’t have self cleaning, but newer model do. So for price difference I prefer this machine.

We've had our ice maker for 10 months and it has worked flawlessly for that entire time until last week, it was on, but no ice was being made. Full of water, no restrictions, clean condenser, no ice. I contacted the company (Free Village) by chat and they sent me an email link with a case number. They asked for a detailed description of the issue, pictures, and a short video of what it was doing/not doing. I did this this and within 24 hours a new unit was dispatched to me and arrived yesterday after a one day delay by Fedex. I am enjoying my crunchy ice again. Thank you Free Village for your after-sale support team's efforts to get me back up and running! EDIT::: A year later and it has failed the same way again! No warranty this time and I assume the company is gone as now it's not available. Same failure, the motor that breaks off the ice chunks burned up, that's 2 in less than 2 years.

Our family goes through lots of ice. This ice is great for smoothies or blended adult beverages. A bag of sonic ice is about $4. So if you use 3 full bins a day, it pays for itself in about 3 months. It’s a little loud but not awful or unbearable.

Great ice maker. Quiet. Worked great for 40 days then quit makes a handful of ice at a time is all. Nice machine if you can keep it working

Very quiet. Makes ice quickly. Recycles melted ice to make more and super simple to use. One of the best things I've bought. I recommend it highly.

Have had it 2 years. Worked great, after a year I had to clean the coil and then this year it decides to say the bin is full but it's not. Done all trouble shooting with no evail! Not work over the $400 I paid

It is new so we will see if it hold up longer than some of the featured 1 star reviews. So far it is amazing, it produces so much nuggets in the first day; I collected 2 1/2 gallon freezer bags and still had a whole basket in the machine by the end of the night. only down fall is you have to continue to fill the water and it holds a lot of water. My family loves iced drinks and our old machine could not keep up with us; this one out lasts our demands.

Update #2: the seller reached out and offered me a 50% refund, I took it, as of today I should have refused the offer and returned the appliance, as of this evening the unit has completely quit making ice and now is making terrible noises, complete junk, would not recommend purchasing this applianceUpdate: the sellers support team has reached out to me and so far are working to resolve the issue, I will update again as soon as we have a resolution7 minutes my butt, it took almost 30 minutes for the first nuggets to drop, in 18 hours it finally filled the basket( maybe 4 lbs of ice) to top it off, the unit is not well insulated, all the ice it made yesterday was melted after only 8 hrs today in an air conditioned houseAt this point I would not recommend this unit, not for that price
