Works perfect
Whistle, compass and ferro rod. Small pocket sized but throws great sparks and easy to light a fire.

Tiny but Mighty 🔥🔥🔥
The media could not be loaded. We had fun playing with this! Save your dryer lint, it blazes up right away with this ferro rod! (Also can repurpose candles/wax melts—if you add a few crumbles of wax your lint will burn for a few minutes rather than just 30 seconds.)Optimally you’d have all the right tinder & kindling you need, but no harm in making it easier to start a fire! I put a bag of dryer lint & wax pieces along with this ferro rod in our emergency preparedness supplies. The whistle works well. The compass points north. I went ahead and took the thinner string off and tied it with the para-cord it came with, as it’s sturdy and bright. I might tie a longer piece around the 2nd one so it can be worn around the neck when hiking.I plan on buying another 2 pack. Great for the camper, cars, etc…and just fun to play with!(PS, aerosol mosquito spray also blazed right up, but I decided not to share the video.😉)

Impressed with the quality of the striker.
Thin and small but it throws a good spark. I am impressed!

A great budget price for two of them, two is one and one is none! They work just fine!
Good price on two of these and they make great sparks! The little compass is a cute touch, whether it has great precision or not.I still have an old Cracker Jack compass... if you remember those this is about the same...And a whistle! what's not to like about this package!?

Works great
Works great for my hiking pack. Very small, compact but love the orange color, makes it easy to find. Works great. I wanted a back up to have if my lighter get wet. If this gets wet, wipe it off and after a few strokes it will spark right back up! If you do not however, know how to start a primitive fire, it may pose difficult for you but otherwise, works like a champ!

It will get the job done but...
I liked the fact that this came with two. I bought it because my fiancé and I are working on self-sustainability and having one for him and one for me for starters is nice. I liked that there were whistles, and compasses. We tested the compass on them and both of them are accurate. It's easy to get them to spark, but you need some BIG sparks to make a fire with them. My fiancé was able to get huge sparks and make small burn marks in the newspaper, and tinder, but it wouldn't go up. I went and got a paper towel, ripped it up and it he was able to strike it three times and it went up in flames. We were able to boil water over it and everything. We did this is still, normal conditions just as beginners. I wish this came with way more paracord, and I wish that these were a little bigger because the size of the flint determines the size of the sparks that are expelled. It would be hard for a kid to light, even a woman. If there is paper towel and very still weather involved, one besides a man might be able to light it.. I'm going to keep it as a backup. You always want to make sure you have 7 different ways to start fire, so I'm going to get a bigger one to get bigger sparks. This is not a bad product. It's good for beginners but it does work out the hands quite a bit, even for my fianvce and he's a marine.

Hey, not bad!
I keep one in my hunting bag, one in glovebox, one in my car and I gave some as gifts. They work.

Good products & excellent post-sale customer service
Unfortunately, one of the 2 items was defective. One item works well but the other is not working properly. So this review is a mixed response.* As an add on comment, the AOFAR team immediately resolved an issue with the product and demonstrated exceptional customer service. The replacement product works perfectly. Compliments to the AOFAR team for post-delivery support and responsiveness. The products are great value at a competitive price.

Good but not great - NOT survival kit quality but good for practice
These will start a fire just fine with well prepared tinder but because of the fairly weak spark size (a factor of fire-steel material quality) you are limited to the usefulness of these in a real survival situation. For this reason alone I would NOT recommend this for a survival kit. This fire-steel does however offer a very affordable PRACTICE kit which will help you to develop the necessary skills to become proficient with flint & steel / fire-steel fire lighting. Make no mistake, this is NOT something that you can expect to just pickup and use well. It takes practice, so buy one or two of these and get practicing!

Small but lots of sparks. LOTS of sparks.
Kinda small so not a lifetime supply of fire, but it gives off more sparks than any ferro rod I've had. Likely best to not rely on the whistle. Seller quickly fixed a minor issue for me. 5 stars for service and the ferro compound used in these.

Rod and compasses good, whistle sucks.
The ferrel rod and compasses (although cheap) work well. The whistle on one works when you blow really really hard, and there is a piece missing from the other so the whistle doesn't work at all.

Ignore the negative comments.
Almost didn't order because of the negative comments. Some people just can't be pleased. These are perfect strikers and work very well and easy to use. They are not too small! They are just the right size to fit into my tin of magnesium. The paracord is just an extra. Highly recommend these strikers for your camping or survival gear.
