HTS 261D0 Large Blue Aluminum Pill Container

I know other reviewers have stated that the quality of this item was inferior, that the material was plastic rather than metal, etc. - and gave this pill container a poor rating.While I cannot speak for their experience, I can assure anyone contemplating purchasing this pill container that my experience was excellent. This product arrived exactly as pictured and as described: It has a finely machined aluminum body (and, since I have a background in aluminum metallurgy, I feel qualified to say that this seems to be a very high grade of aluminum extrusion); the top and case are carefully threaded and go together smoothly and completely; the O-ring provides an excellent seal; the interior has a smooth, white plastic coating that creates a much cleaner-looking environment for pills or caps you're going to be putting into your mouth at some point; and the inside of the cap has a mirrored finish.The 1-inch diameter is especially appealing. While a bit bulky for trouser pockets, it is essential if you must carry several pills at once, especially large capsules. Its larger capacity was a great selling point for this item.I bought my first pill container of this design about 15 years ago from a mail order catalog (think of a herring that weighs a ton). It was made in Germany, was from machined stainless steel, and cost about $25, plus S&H. It had the same depth as the item offered here, but had only a 3/4-inch diameter, so it's capacity was limited. I have since found similar containers in drugstores that were poorly made of an inferior grade aluminum and cost about the same price as the containers offered here. I also have found a plastic version of the original stainless model and prefer it to the stainless because it is lighter in one's pocket and also does not conduct body heat.The container offered here, because of its plastic lining, also should conduct less body heat, keeping medications that must stay within a certain temperature range to retain their effectiveness safely cool.If this seller has difficulty with their supplier and occasionally substitutes an inferior item, that is unfortunate. But that definitely was NOT the case with me. I could not be happier with this purchase and recommend it highly.

Excellent product. Large enough to hold both my hearing aids, batteries, and cleaning tool. Waterproof rubber gasket if you screw down firmly. Have had on keyring for months now and finish is holding up well without scratching. Sturdy ring at top or I wouldn't trust it with my very expensive hearing aids.

Too big to comfortably carry in front pants pocket so returned

If you have to carry a lot of meds or you just want to carry a variety (Aleve, Tylenol, etc.), this is perfect because it is so large. I would recommend this pill bottle for anyone in need of a larger size for larger pills. It is lightweight yet offers the benefit of being waterproof as well, though I wouldn't let the bottle sit in water for a long period...have had others go through the wash and come out with dry pills inside. Not sure how this one would hold up in the wash, but it is very similar to the others I have.

I have a pill cady that I carry in my pocket, and it looked like from the stated measurements that this one was close enough. This container is far too large to carry in your pocket. Maybe OK in a purse. It does seem to be of good construction and has an o-ring seal, which would make it waterproof. Measurements seem tricky, it is 1.25" ID and approx OD, rather than the stated 1". I will give it 4 stars only because it is good quality.

pros: good size, sturdy and a good price.cons: no o ring, no plastic liner.I really needed the o ring and liner.

I purchased this to hold a couple Yubico keys that I have. It works great for the normal sized Yubico key and of course the micro one. It also has some room it it for some advil along with the Yubico keys. After I got this one I ordered another for a little vile of medication that I have to take. Works great. Stays shut and water tight. It has been through the wash once. I was worried that everything inside would be destroyed, but when I opened it up everything was dry and fine. It is a little big and bulky, but I have gotten over it. Great product if you have little things that you have to carry, but are worried about them getting damaged.

Size is not as indicated in description, too large.
