Great for salads
I have bought 3 of these, blackened garlic, onion and shallot. The flavors are so fresh & delicate. I love them on salads or sprinkled as a finishing flavor on soups or veggies. They were great on my blackened fish also. I say it is a finisher because I would not want to stew these for hours as the flavor will weaken, but they can certainly be cooked or sautéed. The lightness and subtlety of the flavor is what I appreciate in these. It is a more refined taste & not the typical run of the mill “garlic salt” or powdered onion. The shallot is my favorite for salads. If you are wondering how shallots should taste, I have used purple shallots fresh from the farmers market and they are similarly subtle but delicious, able to be eaten raw without much of a bite to the flavor. I would add that I have used these in the bottom of my bowl of soup that had been heavily spiced with curry, coriander, fennel, and herbs. With the hot soup poured over, these have blended well, adding the perfect touch. I love to spice my food and will be trying more from this company

So good!
I love sumac on all kinds of things. This is very nice. Possibly for cooking some might consider a less expensive bulk organic.I consider this more like a finishing salt type product. I use it on anything I would like a little bit of acidity/tanginess. I love the texture of this product.

Excellent flavor
Za'atar is the most versitle of spice blends and adds so much to all foods.

Rich smoky flavor!
May be a little too rich and smoky for me.However, the food choice may be incorrect.Maybe a Hungarian Goulash or........?It isn't a bad flavor, needs the correct meal plan.

What happens when the recipes calls for Shallots and ............
What happens when the recipes calls for Shallots and you don't have them, or the one you've got has turned into a science experiment in the fridge? OMG substitute an onion?? It's not the same - but sort of, or maybe a green onion - not the same - but sort of. The grocery store is not close, it's at least 30 min away and you're cooking NOW. Grab this Shallot Powder and keep on cooking. It's the perfect substitute always ready and never a "science experiment" in your fridge. Easy to use and packs the power of the delicate taste of shallots.

Flavorful
We use it to make a sauce like Lilies Honey Gold tender sauce, which we really love and can't get anymore.

Bitter as heck
I love cardamom and was excited to try this, especially after reading all the wonderful reviews, but this jar was bitter without any of the unique floral woodsy aromatic qualities that my favourite spice is known for. Disappointing.

Fresh & delicious!
I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh this spice mix smells and tastes. I’ve tried several varieties of this condiment, and this one truly tastes authentic. It reminded me of the delicious za’atar sold on street carts selling the Palestinian pretzel-shaped bread during my visits to Bethlehem and Jerusalem. Burlap & Barrel really hit the mark with this product. It’s such a treat! And for a natural/organic product, it’s definitely great value for money. Will be buying more, I love it!
