The shade was dented but in the location I'm using it in, it won't be seen. I was able to massage the dent to lessen the damage. As a lamp, i love it. It looks like a two ball snowman. In fact, i might actually decorate it to look like a snowman for the winter holidays. I'm very pleased. The shade screws onto the bulb socket so there are no lamp shade wires thus no weird shadows in the shade from those wires. picture shows how the dent damage is not visible when light is on low dim or high, but you can when off. i keep it on 24-7 because it's seen through our front door from the sidewalk acting like a porch light so we can keep our porch light OFF so we're not blinding the neighbors with an exterior light like ALL our neighbors porch lights blind us. The street light is dim compared to all the porches on our road. If you have a porch light, think of your neighbors and DON'T use BRIGHT BULBS that light up your neighbors yard, porch, living rooms, and bedrooms please.
