The best lantern ever! T'is hurricane season, and as Irma was approaching, I ordered this lantern. It really came in handy when we lost power. In using it, I found out just how awesome it is. It takes AA batteries, and since it's LED, they last for ever. It has a flashlight on top that is good and strong. In addition it has a red strobe light that would be nifty in an emergency on the road. The best feature is the lantern part. You pull the lantern apart, basically, and four LED tubes are revealed that give off fabulous amounts of light. You can adjust how far you pull the two halves apart, depending on how much light you need.Since I was freaked out during the hurricane, I left the lantern on all night - to have a bit of light - and it never lost battery power. Lastly, there are some super-strong magnets on the bottom, so you can attach this lantern to anything metal, like an outer door (which is usually metal) or a car, or the fridge, or ... and it will stay because the magnets are mighty. Love this lantern lots and lots. Completely worth the cost, which isn't that much.

These are awesome little lanterns, with a flashlight and a strobe. Very bright and puts off very little heat. Runs on AA batteries, I recommend them highly. And it folds down into something that is easily carried in a back pack or suitcase, or even a purse. The magnets are cool to.

WOW this thing is bright! I'm always purchasing tools in the event of a prolonged power outage. Went into an inner room late at night and opened this thing...almost fell over I was so blinded by the light. Kudos! The flashlight, magnets, emergency beacon are nice touches. I also like the idea of the lantern powering on and off when pulling the device apart...no fiddling with buttons unless you need the flashlight.-1/2 star for the construction...the body and lantern shell are made of plastic...doesn't inspire confidence (you get what you pay for). -1/2 star for the lack of innovation on the lantern....it's either ALL or no light. With 3 LED bars....would be nice to switch between 1 and 3 to conserve battery life.I plan to do a full battery rundown test in the near future. The V2 supposedly got 8 hours unofficially from customer reviews.

I like this model since it uses regular 2A batteries and does not require charging. Anything that I found that required charging seemed ridiculous since the use is during a power outage. Go figure. After I put batteries in each unit and turned them ON I was impressed with the intensity of the LED light as well as the usefulness of the flashlight function. I have not tried these in a real power outage so I don't know the life of the 3 2A batteries - BUT as I mentioned before if you have batteries just change them!

I LOVE this light for camping! It was SUPER bright (almost too bright for inside the tent....don't look directly at it!) and easy and fun to use. I did have it sticking to a metal door with the magnets on the bottom, and I love that feature. But then I accidentally knocked it off the door with my elbow, and it fell to the ground. The piece of plastic that connects to the light portion broke, so now I cannot pull the top up to reveal the lantern without serious difficulties, and the wiring is showing. Not really fixable at this point. Flashlight and beacon is still usable.But, because I loved it so much before it broke, I will purchase another.

Been looking to replace a 10 year old light that has finally died. This is very bright, adjustable and compact. Simply by sliding the light into and out of the lantern body you can bring the light from blindingly bright to very soft. I also appreciate that it runs on AA and not D cells. I won't know how durable it is until I spend time in the field with it but have high hopes.

It charges up with the USB cable and works just fine. Box states takes 3 AAA batteries (included) but, no batteries in box or lantern.

Ich hatte mir die Laterne wegen dem zusätzlichen Batteriefach gekauft. Kann ja nie schaden Reduntanz zu haben. Die Laterne ist sehr Hell damit läuchtet man Problemlos seinen ganzen Campingbereich aus. DieTaschenlampenfunktion ist hervorragend auch wenn der kleine Alubügel als Griff nicht ideal ist. Aber für kurz mal was ausleuchten ist das völlig ok. Die Roten Warnleuchten sind für den Notfall bestimmt nicht verkehrt wenn auch ich nicht sagen kann wie weit man die sehen kann.Die Verarbeitung ist echt klasse ich hab nirgends einen Grad oder Nase gefunden. Ich bin mit dem Ding zufrieden alerdings hab ich auch nicht so extreme ansprüche an ne Camping Laterne.Eine Sache stört mich dann aber doch etwas. Die Lampe ist so Hell das ich mir eine Dimmfunktion wünschen würde. Das einzige was man machen kann ist die Lampe nicht ganz auszuziehen aber das sparrt dann leider keinen Akku. Aber sonst top das teil.

Well made sturdy and very bright. I purchased this item not for camping but in case we have a power outage. On testing it it is very bright so I purchased a cylindrical lamp shade to go over it which works brilliantly, just like a table lamp, only need one in a room as opposed to lots of candles. Also, the torch on the top is a handy extra, great for moving from room to room. I also like the option that I can charge it and use batteries as a backup. A really good item for a really good price. Have been using it for the last 2 days and really impressed with the brightness and ease of use. The way we can collapse it, helps save a lot of space. The only annoying thing so far is the hook at the bottome. I find it really hard to open it to hang the light but it is not a biggie. I would still highly recommend this.

When this arrived in perfect condition, tthe first thing is to charge its internal battery. It has a backup system, with three AAA batteries.The lantern is pretty bright, enough to please most people. It also has the ability to be used as a roadside warning beacon, and has a torch on top, but as a floodlight only.All said, it is a pretty good bit of kit.I like mine, and use it as a bedside light!
