Hearts Aglow (Striking a Match) Paperback – March 1, 2011

The book was very good, but there were way too many loose ends with no answers at the end. I understand the author wants us to buy and read the third book in the series, but there should have been some closure at the end of each book. This left me wanting to abandon the series instead of being excited to read further.

Oh, I really enjoyed reading the second book, Heart's Aglow of the Striking a Match series. The heroine Deborah, at times can really make a person grab the Kleenex box! She felt like she was only half a person when Christopher, Dr. Clayton, left her with only a letter to say goodbye. They were supposed to be in love and eventually get married. He was the oldest of fifteen children! And one of his brother's was in jail, accused of killing another man,and they were going to hang him. So he had to go to him to try to help. In the meantime, one of the worst hurricane to ever hit the coastal states struck! There was flooding and fires, and destruction everywhere. Then, Deborah reads a newspaper reporting that a doctor in one of the town's had been killed, in the town where Christopher had traveled to, to help his brother. Oh my, well I won't tell you anymore about that. I am happy to say that Deborah's mother married her brother-in-law, Arjan, finally! Sissy, their special black friend is recovering from her attack, where she was beaten very bad and her husband and son was killed.It was all SO terrible! This book is very suspenseful and so good, you hate to put it down! I highly recommend this book!!

I just read book 1and2 in the series, and going to start on book 3 tomorrow. This series have been so good, you don’t want. To stop reading. It’s brings so much memories of the past when I was young and the prejudice of people of every class and color. Good reading and I would recommend this to old and young. Clean and informative of the scripture. Thank you Tracie!

Tracie Patterson did a fine job of combining the truths of the gospel with a sweet story of love in the midst of pride and prejudice. I look forward to reading more of her books.

Well once again I just finished Book #2 of this series, and really I just wanted to not write this review but instead wanted to move quickly to purchase Book #3, and "get reading" !!!Tracie, I ENJOY the characters you create and the depth and ease with which we get to know them!When I read, it is strictly for relaxation and enjoyment. The fact that your books are romantic Christian historical books works for me! I truly enjoy them.The fact that I also live in Montana just makes me appreciate some of your book locations even more!Thank you for sharing the gift that God has given you.

The second book in the series is just as good as the first one. I like how the main character's start to fit into the puzzle pieces. I love the small town characters and can see how they would interact with each other. I am reading the third book in the series and can't wait to see how it ends. Love these Tracie Peterson's books. She's a great storyteller. I also love that she lives in Montana where I live. I actually interviewed her online before. A very gracious lady.

I liked the story well enough but I downgraded this review by one star because this kindle edition which was over $4 was poorly edited. It was very disconcerting to find random numbers in the text; no spaces between some words and paragraph breaks in the middle of a sentence. It would have been okay if it were just one or two, but it was in the entire book. I do not want to buy the third installment of this series simply because it so annoying to try to read with breaks in the middle of sentences. I do not recommend this book because of the editing issues. I would like to know if the third book is the same. First book, which was free, had no issues.

I have now read both the first 2 books in this series, and I am looking forward to the last, Hope Rekindled. I have read many of Tracie's books and have enjoyed them all. This series is wonderful to teach history of the day. It talks of the injustice against people of color and against women. I believe that if we don't at least know about our history, we may end up repeating it, and believe me we should not want this kind of inequality today. I like the fact that there are no curse words or sex in these books. It is just a good clean story. Thank you, Tracie.

For me this book by Tracie Peterson is again a great story, easy and pleasant to read without being an intellectual. The greatest reason for me in enjoying her books is the use and not being afraid to use Christian views and reference to Biblical scripture
