Fresh out of the box I simply tossed my GoPro to my friend and the pole sank like a rock with my camera (GoPro Hero 5)
I bought this product less than a month ago and it broke the second time I used it. Thankfully GoPole stuck to the lifetime warranty and sent me a new one. Fresh out of the box I simply tossed my GoPro to my friend and the pole sank like a rock with my camera (GoPro Hero 5). I dove after it and had no luck finding it. After emailing them back for the second go around they only support warranty on their products to no surprise at all and offered to send me a new evo which obviously is not going to work. I'm beyond disappointed in this brand and would not recommend other products as I have used them and yet again been disappointed by the turnout. I would strongly recommend to not trust this product or its company.

NOT for DEEP WATER
Great monopod, easily retracts and extends above and below the surface. Its very well constructed, doesn't wobble when fully extended and the clear tube looks nicer in the selfie shots/videos.The screw in wrist strap is nice, but if you use it a lot and don't remember to tighten it after a few hours of use, it may become lose and detach from the pole. Now for the BAD, This floats because air is trapped inside of both tubes, primarily within the smaller tube if you try to extend this under water, the larger tube will fill with water. The smaller extension tube is attached to the GoPro adaptor with some type of glue, it does a great job at keeping water out at shallow depths less than 33ft~10M but if you keep going deeper to 66Ft~20M or even 99ft~30M the air pressure at that depth will compress all the air and the tube will slowly start leaking. After 7 days of diving to the 60-110 foot range the small tube was completely filled with water, because the end was sealed and only leaked with the added pressure of the deep depths there wasn't anyway to remove the water without drilling a hole which would compromise the structural integrity.WRAP UPGood all around, floats and looks great, check the wrist strap regularly and don't take it deep or it will fill with water and it cant be drained without breaking it.

Top section not water-tight
Top section filled with water at a depth of 1 foot/30cm almost immediately and I could think of no way to drain it other than possibly drilling a hole into it and gluing it closed again. Was on vacation so I didn't attempt the fix.The wrist strap and screw mount were reliable and comfortable to use. The mounting bolt started corroding quickly after exposure to sea water. It would have been nice if it were stainless steel.Otherwise, it was easy to use and extend and collapse, and the bolt mounting was secure. I ended up leaving the pole behind at my vacation spot, sent to the landfill. Paid $35 US. For the performance, the price should have been about $10-15 in my opinion.edit: I will mention the lower section did stay water tight, the silicone gasket works fine.

Floats! But wristlet needs improvement.
I'm happy I bought this item, but there's some room for improvement. The handle floated as expected and the rubber grip made it easy. I was very careful with tightening the clear screw joint at the extension point and the clear chamber did have water get into it, but it didn't seem to affect how it performed. The clear screw joint moves up and down so sometimes I didn't have it secured in the proper place so the extension wouldn't lock. The biggest area where I'd love to see improvement is the wrist strap. It causes a lot of noise in your videos. It would also be better if the plastic piece on the strap actually locked in place...it slides around so you can't really have it tight around your wrist. The screw that goes into the handle doesn't tighten well so at one point it apparently unscrewed on its own so while I had it around my wrist, the screw detached from the handle and my go pro fell and hit the concrete! And this is how I got the first scratches on my brand new $400 Go Pro :/. Overall, I'm still content, but hope they can improve the strap part.

Does the job
So I took the gopole to Hawaii with me and it did the job of extending out and holding the camera in place, but water got into it very easily and was very hard to get out. In addition, it's a cheap plastic and so it cracked easily on the extension locking mechanism. Photos are below.

Not the most durable
I've gone through a couple of these things. They just aren't that durable when it comes to salt water. Went on vacation a couple times. I tried to rinse it with fresh water after getting out of the ocean, but I may not have done the best job at it. With both of these the plastic part that the screw goes through simply broke off randomly. The break wasn't from anything I did - it just kind of wore out. The salt water exposure is the only thing I can think of to cause this. I'll be trying to find a replacement soon.

Excellent Accessory For Our GoPro
This was the best thing ever to go along with our GoPro on vacation. We used it snorkeling, riding on wave runners and ATV's and we also set it up and leaned it against things while we used our remote to take pictures. I love that it is transparent and was barely noticeable in the pictures. It allowed me to get pictures closer up to fish and other creatures in the coral without having to get so close. I also used it to capture some great photos and videos of sharks and stingrays we swam with. It floats which is great as well. I also attached a foam floaty to the camera for extra protection, but this alone would probably have been fine. I was also amazed with how stable the videos were when we used it riding the ATV's. We were able to hold it above and out in front, to the side or behind us while riding the ATV's and wave runners and capture great videos without it being too noticeable. This is a must have for activities like this that you'll be filming with a go pro. The length is perfect also. It would be nice if it collapsed for packing purposes, but it doesn't. It still fit in our suitcase though.

Just the job for my GoPro
I bought this to use while diving. I am so happy with it. The product oozes quality. Just slip the loop over your wrist and jump in. I confess I was a little apprehensive about the possible inconvenience of carrying the pole for the duration of the dive. Before I had a Bobber hand grip, which was small and could simple be let go to float above my wrist. In practice, using this GoPole during dives was completely natural and it never once felt it got in the way. In fact I used it on 111 consecutive dives. The results are excellent - nice and close to fish and coral. The GoPole exceed my expectations. How to use it?- Hold it forward and shoot straight ahead or slightly down- Hold it forward and shoot back at yourself or your group- And the bonus: I wanted to swim above fish and angle the pole down then shoot horizontally or slightly up. The way the pole bracket is made this requires the camera to be upside down. Guess what - the GoPro has a built-in upside mode. Brilliant. I could place the camera way below me then film upwards.Should you buy the telescopic GoPole instead of the clear pole? I could decide which to get so purchased both and took them on holiday. As this clear pole suited my needs, I did not use the telescopic pole. I'll save it for land use.In summary - a perfect accessory for a GoPro underwater. Happy diving and filming!

Great accessory for diving
Worth the money spent - light, durable, keeps the camera floating. Not the cheapest thing, but definitely worth recommending. If you plan to take it with you on your holidays, the please note that it doesn't fit in a smaller suitcase ;-)
