finally Zane comes home
TRUE HERO is a standalone read with a happy ending. There are sexy scenes if that is an issue for you. The North family lives in Tennessee and they own a very successful sports store - in several states. Mason, the oldest son took over as CEO when his father was accidentally killed. Gage, next in line as the people person heads up the HR Dept. Cole, the black sheep of the family is in charge of all construction and renovations to the buildings. Drake the wild card heads up the active sports area. Zane, the youngest brother just home from a few tours with the Navy as a fighter pilot is trying to figure out his life as a civilian. He is home 2 days when he attends the wedding of his brother and is paired up with Hayden for the wedding. They hardly know each other and Zane is not an easy companion. He is gorgeous, moody, and reserved. Hayden just the opposite as she has a great time at her friend's wedding. Leaving late and one of the last cars in the parking lot, Hayden cannot get her car to start. She is in a small town, no Uber, no car service, it is cold, she misplaced her coat, she is not sure what she is going to do when there comes a tap on her window and nearly scares her half to death. It is Zane and he offers her a ride back to the city. She tries to get him to open up about himself but he avoids all her questions. This is the start of their very emotional love story. Hayden has her own insecure issues to work through. Zane lost a best friend in an accident aboard their carrier. He has not come to grips with that loss and keeps it all inside. I had one disappointment. When Zane was at his lowest point, not knowing how to deal with his issues he goes within. It is the darkest point in his life. He is struggling.Lexie makes the issue all about her! I wish she had shown a bit more compassion and maturity. It is a good story and a good ending to the North Bros. series. All the brothers find happiness, as they do in all romance novels but this one has a nice little surprise at the end. Definitely a happy family.I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 7/29/2022

Fabulous finish to the series
This was great, a realistic take on an oops pregnancy with an adult way of dealing with it. I really enjoyed how Hayden and Zane came together.

Heartwarming, Emotional Story
True Hero by Amy Knupp, book five in the North Brothers series, is Hayden Henry and Zane North’s story. When Hayden’s car won’t start after her best friend’s wedding, Zane, fresh out of the Navy, comes to her rescue. Deciding to have a no strings, one-night stand, one that is not only unforgettable but having a malfunction with their contraception; leads to an unexpected consequence. This unexpected turn of events has Hayden and Zane reassessing their futures, their chemistry, and their relationship. Amy Knupp wrote an emotional, wonderful, heartwarming romance with an amazing small town vibe that kept me turning the pages wanting to see how Hayden and Zane handle their situation and hoping a happy ending is in their future. I highly recommend True North to other readers.
