Stop the anger cycle now!!
Dr. Tom Harbin has been able to take his Beyond Anger: A Guide for Men and translate it for teen boys and young men. This is a great resource for this age group to utilize and learn how to stop the grip of uncontrollable anger early in the cycle. Dr. Harbin shows how anger is nothing to be afraid of, but that it needs to be properly channeled. Dr. Harbin shows how young men can control their anger, not be controlled by it. He gives real-life examples of different aspects of how anger can popup in daily life; he also illustrates the differences in letting that anger be the driver vs. thinking through the scenario and methods of how to turn the situation around. The best part is that he gives the space and time necessary for the reader to really process the information and try to implement it in his daily life.

An invaluable resource for working with anger issues in teenage boys!
This easy-to-navigate resource for working with teenage boys provides an important focus on anger and its triggers, expression, and outcomes. Helping adolescents and their families understand the connections between anger and other feelings of inferiority, embarrassment, sadness, and guilt can break cycles of learned responses and behaviors, and can chart a course for new ways to connect thoughts, feelings, and actions. Through empirically-supported cognitive behavioral research, Dr. Tom Harbin provides helpful information about anger, specific activities to understand anger, and constructive strategies for expressing anger and other emotions in healthy and adaptive ways. As a therapist and parent to a young adult male, I highly recommend this workbook!

Fascinating and insightful
At a time when mass shootings by angry young men has become a weekly news headline, Dr. Tom Harbin's Anger Management Workbook offers help by allowing teen boys to identify and to define their emotions of guilt, sadness, embarrassment and fear into something other than anger. The workbook examples and interactive homework allow the teen to work towards better solutions besides hitting or destroying. Fascinating and insightful for anyone examining their own anger issues.

Practical, realistic resource and motivation for any teen dealing with anger.
Convincing an angry teen that they might have a problem and can actually do something to make things better (fix it) is not an easy task. This workbook is full of relatable, practical, realistic ideas and scenarios to convince them it is worth a try. It also gives them the tools to succeed, and it does so without talking down to them. This is an excellent resource.

Great Resource!
Harbin’s Anger Management Workbook is a thoughtfully well-organized and practical approach designed to assist professionals, parents, and others helping teen boys with the challenges of anger, and a wonderful companion to his earlier work, “Beyond Anger: A Guide for Men: How to Free Yourself from the Grip of Anger and Get More Out of Life.” Together, these books will find their way as dog-eared, highlighted, and book-marked resources for anyone needing assistance.
