Otterbox Commuter Series for Samsung Galaxy s8 - Retail Packaging - Aqua Mint Way (Aqua Mint/Mountain Range Green)

I've bought Otterboxes for both of my phones. I had the commuter case for my Samsung S7 edge. So I bought this case just under a year ago for my brand new Samsung S8. I got the aqua one. The color is great, I'm a big fan of the gray edges. The space for the fingerprint is perfect, and I have big fingers so that says a lot. I drop my phone CONSTANTLY. I mean probably daily. Not always from super high up but it happens. I was stupid and didn't get a screen protector for my phone. So that means this case alone was protecting my phone from breaking. It took up until July of this year for my screen to break, and even then it is only a tiny shatter in the corner because I dropped it on gravel. This case is awesome. The case clearly takes most of the brunt of the damage. The corners of the plastic have suffered. The back of mine broke near the pop socket sometime in the last couple of months. I've seen other complaints about it being slippery. I use a pop socket most of the time, but for the few months when I wasn't, I would agree with those comments. The case is pretty slick, I've definitely dropped it on my face. The only reason I'm replacing it is because the back cracked and I'm bored with this color. Great case. I'm buying the exact same one again.

So here's the deal - protection is unbeatable. Dropped this phone more times than I can count since having the case. Not a scratch on the phone. And I'm talking long drops. HOWEVER- the only flaw is the fact that the back of the case is extremely slippery. So much so that I found a lot of my drops were due to the phone being so slippery in my hands. I purchased the Speck Candyshell Grip that has 2 sets of ridged rubber grips on the back of the case making it easier to hold while texting. Also much harder to move or slip off a flat surface if you leave your phone face up. The Commuter Series back is so slippery that it did not stay on flat surfaces without sliding (Most people aren't going to deliberately slide their phones in the case just to see what happens- however - I did just for comparison - the Speck case was much more resistant to slips and subsequently falls, because of the rubber grips in the back. The Speck cases also handled some falls well. Not sure if this will protect as well as the Commuter Series, but I do that I will not drop the phone as much. I still don't think that anything can protect as well as an Otterbox though

Let me say this upfront. I'm not a fan of phone cases, especially big, bulky ones. So I was reluctant to get an Otter Box for my S5 a few years back but my techy husband made me do it since he knows I'm a little clutzy. After dropping my phone approximately 6,327 times (give or take 5), I never looked back.A few months ago, I purchased the S8 and bought this Otter Box to go along with it. I was happy that the color wasn't atrocious like my last one. (Pink and aqua, FYI, so I looked like a walk 1980s Barney fan.) This one is a pleasant aqua, with deeper accents of teal that I can handle, especially since aqua is my favorite color. It's relatively easy to put on your phone. And the best part is that even though I've dropped it approximately 268 times so far, my phone is still in perfect condition. Otter Box for life!

I just replaced my old Galaxy S3 with a Galaxy S8 - that is MANY years with a phone! This old phone survived SO MANY drops & falls - and never had any problems or a cracked screen because I had an OtterBox Commuter case. It "saved my butt" many times over.So when I got my new phone - I immediately purchased this Otterbox to fit the new model. (While I waited the 3 days for the cases's arrival, I was almost afraid to use the phone..."What if I drop it UNPROTECTED?")My new Otterbox is a mint green (husband's is blue so we can tell our phones apart), and fits the phone perfectly (camera hole, charger area & all buttons aligned). It has already been put to the test...dropped several times...saved my butt again!

I was really concerned at first about the smoothness of the case because I thought it would be very slippery but after a day or two adjustment, I don't even think about it anymore. My toddler loves to throw my phone, so durability is a must-have and this case definitely has it. I'm still worried about the sides not coming up over the curved screen, but that's just something you deal with with any s8 case. It only has two easy pieces to install onto your phone and they feel very nice and sturdy. The dust covers over the charging and headphone ports is a game changer for those pesky "water in charging port" notifications that I used to get around any splashes. Overall, very pleased.

Fit my phone perfectly and color is exactly as pictured. The edge on the case keeps the screen from touching if it is set down on the screen side. Feels very durable (of course, it's an OtterBox). Some black clothing did rub off on and stain the rubber inner a bit, but it cleaned off nicely, so that shouldn't be an issue at all. So far the port covers haven't come loose or had any issues. Buttons all work great with the case on and are still easy to press. The back keeps the camera from touching any surface when you set the phone down. Overall a great case.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.I've been using the Otterbox Commuter series for my last 3 phones and I haven't been let down! I've accidentally dropped my phone SO MANY TIMES but this case has gone above and beyond. It's pricey but well worth it.The color I got (aqua mint) is my favorite color and I couldn't be happier with how it looks. All this protection, great visual, and less bulkiness than the defender. The only downside is that the outlet covers can be annoying but I am glad that it protects the holes from dirt and other contaminants.Buy it, it fits the S8 perfectly and I couldn't ask for a better phone case.

Good product. Nice texture. Raised curve on the edge is useful. Only one drawbacks, the lower sides where a phone mount on a car will hold the phone is very smooth. As a result phone comes out from the hold very easily. It would have been better if the sides were of the same surface as of the top sides of the cover.

Has a small lip at the top and bottom for screen protection but that’s it. Feels a bit more “slippery” than I would like but that’s alright. It’s a case it does it’s job. That being said I have not had any major drop incidents up to date. It’s ok. I don’t love don’t hate. Pretty colour though...

This otter box has been perfect for my phone. I drop my phone at least once a day and this box paired with a screen protector have saved me from even a single scratch.

This is the third phone I've purchased an Otter box for and it won't be the last. They cost more than most cases but they are so so worth it. It's comfortable to hold and very durable and easy to clean. My last one saved my phone when I fell down a flight of icy concrete stairs. This one has only had to save my phone from my roommate's cat knocking it off the counter but it's the same great quality. Highly recommended.

I really like it. Beautiful color, doesn't slip, fit with my screen protector IQ shield liquid and it isn't bulky.The box I reeived WAS NOT SEAL though. That is the only thing I didn't like and make me wonder if I got an open box ? I give 5 stars anyway because the product itself is A1.
