Review: Different, but good! Well written - While this isn’t my usual go-to style book for reading, I was pleasantly surprised by the English-adaptation. Originally written in German, this book transports the reader to a seemingly normal, but suddenly post-apocalyptic setting where a woman is forced to live in her own isolation. It’s a book on survival, loneliness, coping with loss, but also the joys of living a simple life. It’s connection with the natural world and finding one’s identity where society no longer functions.
Review: Well written but I found it depressing - It was good to know ahead of time what sad things would be happening, but some happy things might have been a good thing to add as well. Well written but not complete; as in, what do you do when there's no more running water in the bathroom? No mention of digging latrines....overall interesting but sad.

Loved this book. I watched the movie and I thought the book must be even better. I was able to relate to the main character on many levels, the story was thought provoking and stayed with me.
