Seed Quality 2015 v 2014
UPDATE: The seeds are now sprouting/growing and tasting great. Possible the first few trays did not produce as expected, but now they are. Maybe a bit of 'operator error' so now I am moving the rating to 5. The quality is there!Dear Madam/Sir at Todd's Seeds; I recently purchased via Amazon, the 10 lb. Todd's Seeds-Hard Red Wheatgrass. This is a repeat of the same product I ordered last summer (2014). I have to say, as we are planting and harvesting now, the quality of the harvest is not so good. Last year was excellent. This year, though the seeds germinate and grow into the grass, there is no white-ish stem like last year. Here is the current info on the product this year: Lot#SWH2-4AE (germ: 95%, Purity: 99%, Origin: USA, Exp: 12/31/18). I do not have the same details for the product ordered last year as we used all, and recycled the bag. Is there a way to check or discuss a possible replacement? Appreciate your attention to this matter. ps: I tried to submit this on your Todd's Seeds website but it would "not submit" even with entering the security code. There is not an apparent telephone number listed on your site, and the contact us section does not seem to be working, so I am reaching out to you here. Thank You.

A must buy for juicers or those with fur babies!
Awesome product, fast growing, easy to get started. I used organic top soil blended with some organic potting mix 50/50 blend. I filled this mix into 2" deep planter trays that are 8" X 16" w X l, spread the seeds, topped with 1/4" of the soil blend. Soaked the trays and covered it with a clear medium thick shower curtain, weighted down with rocks. Left to Vegas for a week and came back to trays of wheat grass. That easy! Oh and they came with full, easy I structions for those new to growing grass.I'm not sure if my cats have tried it yet, but the horses did and just spit it out. Haha. I will definitely purchase again. A BIG Thanks To Todd's Seeds, you've made an excellent product!

EXCELLENT seeds for cat grass
A _LOT_ of seeds, and I suspect that every seed germinated and grew. And it grows well. However, this is GRASS seed; each seed sprouts ONE AND ONLY ONE blade of grass. Put an inch of dirt (I used Miracle Gro potting soil) in a 2x2 inch pot, then spread the seeds VERY thickly - the seeds should hide the dirt. Then put a half-inch of dirt on top, and water. The seeds sprouted in 2-3 days, and were ready for the cats after 5 days. I also used a large LED gro-light. Water every other day. You'll have happy kitties! If you're growing the wheatgrass for yourself ... no change. Cut the wheatgrass down to about 1 inch off the soil, every 3-4 days, and add it to your salads or smoothies.

Amazing, amazing, amazing!!!
Used it to grow an indoor potty for our puppy and it worked FANTASTIC! We grew it hydroponically on a plastic lid and paper towels and did the pre sprouting in the dark first. Germination was like 99%, and our dog instantly intuitively started going potty only there! Amazing value for money (1lbs of seeds gives you a patch worth $50 at DoggyLawn etc). In love with those seeds! Just make sure first few days the seeds are in a cool temp, otherwise they might not sprout as well.No mold issues whatsoever (we went through 3 different batches now).

THESE SEEDS ARE EXCELLENT!!
I absolutely love these seeds. Just plant them (I used organic soil), keep the soil moist and viola I already had a full sheet of wheat grass within 8 days. I grew this specifically for my cat and he LOVES IT!! If you were to purchase the wheat grass from PetSmart the cost is around $8.00 for a 4" small square of potted grass which incidentally didn't last but a week. I planted this in a 3' X 12" planter and it is thriving. I spray it daily with a water mister, trim it often and the trimmings are put in the fridge so I can give to friends for there rabbits, who also seem to really enjoy it. My cat Ripley is always eating the wheat grass and likes to roll in it - don't know why, but it makes him happy. Like I said THIS IS SO WORTH THE MONEY!! You won't be disappointed.Thank you for such wonderful seeds....

... of activity and was able to grow wheat grass easily with this product
I do not have much experience with this sort of activity and was able to grow wheat grass easily with this product. I YouTubed about 10 different ways and tried each of them. Todd's Seeds sprout regardless of technique used. Ive soaked them until sprouting, misted them until sprouting, tossed them in potting soil and watered the soil, ect. The seeds never fail to produce. I have had issues on a few attempts with mold, but I do not feel the seeds are related to this as the process of care is what would facilitate such activity. The seeds job is to sprout. This are completely reliable for that step in the process. Anything after that is the responsibility of the grower. I would think this is common sense, but based on the angry reviews I have seen, people seem to be blaming the product for their own shortcomings in care for the grass. Great product. Easy to grow.

Bad seeds mixed in with good seeds.
This is the first time I bought this quantity and will be my last. Everything was fine until I got down about halfway. I think I got some bad seeds mixed in, many seeds did not germinate and in one batch it was almost 50%. I contacted the seller by e-mail and they claim it must be the weather, they offered nothing and I won't be using them anymore. If it was just one batch then I wouldn't have thought anything, but it was three batches. I do not recommend packages larger than 5lbs.
