The book is as reliable as ever for me.but a reviewer must point out the pros and cons.so the pros for this particular edition is the great awareness of the author about our present economic situation and the current exam trends. I think we need more graphical presentation of economic jargons and techniques to make the subject even easier for students. And more statistics and charts and tables to easily skim through important data.for example the present gdp forecasting and previous ones. Total foreign exchange reserves over the years. Total grains production over the years and statewise distribution of statistical information .some humble suggestions but the content must be concise like the present one.may be some other book from our beloved author" Ramesh Singh Sir"

It's not just a bare conceptual book. It starts with basics, history, idea and questions then it takes you to journey for explanations, concepts, solutions and thinking. This edition is an updation, as it should be with all current and exam oriented information. Good for mains and even interview level. If you just combine this book with sir's classes and explanations, stream of understanding flow from pages of book to your mind. It don't just limit to "economics" whose domain people have reduced to concepts and money finance, but it gives oneself social and interdisciplinary connection ability. It is surely an excellent book yet exam oriented.

This will be a good read for you. Every concept is explained thoroughly. The only disadvantage you might have is its a little bulky and detailed. You should learn to read it fast or else you'll lose your track.

I am from commerce background so reading and understanding the book wasn't difficult for me at all, but if you are a beginner who is not aware with jargons/technical terms of economics and you are looking to study economics from scratch then please refer to some other book this book isn't appropriate for beginners, and if you are a upsc aspirant then please refer the basic NCERTs of economics after finishing them jump to this it will be a cake walk for you.Other than this I found this book relevant and helpful.
