Strangely Out There
A great first run to a new limited series centering around our Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange. It is great to have Doctor Strange revitalized in so many comics and this one taps into his recent renewal of All New All Different Doctor Strange. Steven is brought to the past to help fight an entity trying to destroy the reality (like always) after the events of the Empirkul (who depleted nearly all the magic from Earth). Doctor Strange works alongside other famous creeps that are known to be Sorcerer Supremes during their time, including a young Ancient One and Wiccan (yes, the X-man). A great engaging series that really brings a nice new twist to the mystical arts and how science might work with them.

Wasted potential
A good idea done poorly. They couldn't even make the idea that a past Sorcerer Supreme was also a former Ghost Rider stand out.

Good Story with good characters!
I love that the story incorporates Merlin, especially. The other characters are interesting, also. The role-play at the end was a little confusing because I read the story on my moble Kindle app.

A mess
I like Doctor Strange and this book definitely had promise: a threat to the fabric of reality requires that Merlin assemble a dream team of people who have been "Sorcerer Supreme" at various times in history to handle it. That's a good premise except that the book was a confusing mess and parts of it made no sense. This review contains some minor spoilers so please don't read further if that bothers you....For example, if you can move through time and pick people from anywhere in their history, why would you pick a time when Doctor Strange was at his weakest? It's even worse that they rubbed Strange's (and the readers') nose in it as to how weak he was. We get it; Doctor Strange is the weakest Sorcerer Supreme of the bunch. Can we move on now? Also, if you're going to bring in the Ancient One, why would you do it when he's a callow youth rather than when he's at the height of his powers? (Get it? The Ancient One is just a kid. Ha ha.) There's also a "pick your own adventure" issue that just doesn't work ("If you want to rescue [x], go to page [y]; otherwise, go to page [z]").The main threat never manages to be a convincing "unravel the fabric of reality" thing, something that's not helped by the unfortunate way it's drawn. If you're going to have a reality-ending threat, it needs to look like it, not like a child's rubber squeeze toy. It doesn't help that there is a plot twist in the penultimate issue (that I won't reveal) that comes out of nowhere and doesn't make a lot of sense. And one thing I *really* hate is that the graphic novel ends in a cliffhanger.Overall, this whole set of issues just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Sorcerers Supreme from throughout time team up.
Merlin snags Doctor Strange out of our time to help along with the other Sorcerers Supreme he's gathered to fight the Forgotten. We have a young, brash Ancient One, a Ghost Rider, Isaac Newton and a Mindless One, Nina the Conjurer, and an older Wiccan from the future. Each issue focuses on an individual and explains their reasons for helping. The Good: The Choose Your Own Adventure book was gimmicky, but served a purpose. The Bad: Robbie Thompson does here what he does in all his books, he gives a serviceable story but nothing ever earth shattering. It's always, "Eh, that was OK." Javier Rodriguez's art isn't nearly as good as it was in Spider-Woman. It's much less polished. Maybe he's having a problem drawing a team book. The Ugly: Doctor Strange with a bushy beard... is just strange looking, frankly. I hated the look.

High ideas, average art
Doctor Strange gets a spinoff series and while its good I almost think it could have found its way into the regular Doctor Strange book. Seeing different Sorcerer Supremes from throughout time is intriguing. There were a few twists and an extremely fun "Choose Your Own Adventure" chapter. The characters were the high point here. Robbie Thompson did a really good job. I didn't love the art. Overall, a good start with a fun idea.

Strange Sorcerers
I really wanted to like this book and there are some things I do like but there are some glaring aspects I do not.The concept of a group consisting of Sorcerers Supreme taken from through the Ages is a fine enough one but as with most groups – some members engage with me more than others - and such a concept cannot explain our Doctor Strange being taken from our time – when he is at his weakest! The artwork is okay but there is a flashback where Doctor Strange wears his classic look and I find myself missing those days and finding the modern Doc probably the dullest character in the book.In contrast I would love to see more of/his own series future-Wiccan.The other annoyance is the ‘twist’ of the villain amongst the group – it is painfully telegraphed and obvious. In what should be a golden time for Doctor Strange this si a fair but hardly inspired offering.

Arco ótimo, mas incompleto
É uma boa história, adorei a arte do Javier Rodriguez, mas quando o desfecho se aproximou e eu prendi o fôlego pro final, o volume terminou sem fechar o arco da trama! Bola fora da edição!
