AEM 28-20392 DryFlow Air Filter

Great filter. Amazon Prime is awesome as always.However BUYER BEWARE OF AN ISSUE.I don't know what is up with Amazon. This filter was missing the plastic cage that should come with it.This send like a common issue with Amazon and these filters, like other reviewers have also said.I called AEM and they are sending me the cage free of charge, rather than hassle with exchanging this one for another one missing the cage.

First filter appeared to be used, was missing parts and very dirty. I returned it, but the second one I received was again missing the filter cage. If you buy this product, you will need to provide your own filter cage and the filter itself may require cleaning.

I wasted my time with this one. It turns out that there's hardware missing with this filter. The "cage" is missing. I hope to get my full refund back

Product fit perfectly. The attachment needed for it to fit was included. Noticed small gains in mpg. I originally used an SRI but found it too loud.Great item

I ordered this product last week for my 2011 lancer ES 2.0L and was excited to try it out (I was even talking to friends at work about how I was excited to install it when I got home). When I received the product I went to install it, but found there was no "air filter cage" in the box that is needed to properly install it. I went through the amazon return process and they shipped out another one asap. I received the replacement today (7/22) and the spacer was missing from this shipment as well. I now have two filters that I need to send back to Amazon as neither came with the component that is nearly as important as the filter itself. I was going to give them another chance, but amazon would not let me order yet another replacement so I had to get a refund instead. I'm really disappointed as I was looking forward to trying the filter out and proudly displaying the provided AEM logo sticker for +25KW (someone out there will get the joke). The build quality looks good and seems like it would last quite a while if taken care of. The sealing material looks and feels like silicon or a high grade rubber that has actually been molded around the DRYFLOW medium. The rubber looks like it would seal very well if the air filter cage had been provided and does not appear to be prone to drying out or cracking. It's easy to tell there would be less airflow restriction as the pleats are spaced further apart and the filter is about 75% as tall as the OEM filter material. However, I may never know if the "butt dyno" would have noticed any gains from the reduced restriction. I would love to give AEM another shot, but as this is my first experience with them I'm not sure if I will. I still need a replacement filter, but don't think I'll order this again and potentially run into the same issue. I may get an OEM filter for the time being and save up for a CAI or SRI among the other modifications I'm planning. I might consider AEM when I purchase aftermarket performance parts in the future, but this experience left me questioning AEM's quality control.
