Safety first
It is either suggested or even required for ventless gas insert fireplaces. It’s easy to install with the provided wing nut. Check with your provider as to what would work for you.

Fire chute can pass inspection with the clamp!
I like how easy it was to install the clamp on the chute. The clamp provide the perfect gap you need to ensure the chute doesn’t close all the way. Definitely recommend this clamp if your fireplace is missing the clamp like our home because it’s an easy fix.

It did what is was supposed to do.
It did what is was supposed to do. Here in California, we had to have one to pass inspection for a house sale. Got it next day, installed in 5 seconds, passed inspection.

Safely use with gas logs in residential fireplace.
We had some work done on our gas line and the representative checked inside our home and found that the gas logs in our fireplace required a damper clamper. I was relieved I did not have to go searching for this product as I was not familiar of it was required for gas log use.

Had product issue but seller is refunding me.
Update:Wanted to update this. After reaching out to the seller for a refund he was very responsive and after a little information processed it immediately. I still have the problem of fishing the damper clamp from behind the flue, but the customer service here was good. Bumping up to three stars.Original Review:DO NOT BUY. Product did not come as advertised. Literally the only reason I picked this product is because it was supposed to have the EZ Winger Bolt. Mine did not. It was simply a standard bolt. As a result, while trying to install it slipped behind my damper which will now not open. It accomplished the exact opposite of its purpose.Shipping a product that is not as advertised is incredibly poor service.

Quick and Cost Effective
This is necessary if you have a gas only fireplace. (At least it is according to our City codes). Quick and easy installation. Cost effective. Quick ship!

Great product!
I’ve been looking for something like this since I installed gas logs in my fireplace. Although many gas fireplaces are deemed ventless, gases are not 100% combusted, and although we installed a carbon monoxide detector in the room, we could still smell fumes when we turned on the fireplace. After installing the damper clip I don’t smell the fumes and feel much more confident about using the gas fireplace
