Microplane Garlic Mincer and Slicer Set (Red)

I was somewhat skeptical about this product even though it is a Microplane product. I have most of their products in my kitchen and all work better than advertised or described. This product was not a disappointment. It took a few minutes to figure out how it worked. I had read some of the 1 star reviews of this product and realized that the reviewers had not figured out how to use the product as I had, but once I had it working it does exactly as described and minces and slices garlic without any problems at all. I have a lot of garlic press/mincers in my kitchen gadgets drawers and cabinets but this one is going to replace a bunch of them. The secret to this device's use is getting the slide mechanism over the blade before putting it into the clear catch unit. Then when you finish you can pull the blade out of catch unit for cleaning. Sliding the slide unit to one end of the blade and tilt it away while pushing down on the opposite end of the blade (along the plastic edge to disengage it from the blade -- simple. It might be a single purpose product, but for what it's designed for it does it both efficiently and well. Another win for Microplane.

This is complete garbage. You risk cutting yourself putting it together. The item doesn't work well, slicing blade bent on first use. Wasn't worth the hassle to return. Just threw it out.

Very disappointed in this product. It is difficult to put together but even harder to take apart which you have to do to get the garlic and clean it. The grater shreds the garlic in long strips and the slicer didn't do a good job at all. The blades are designed to cut in either direction which make it hard to clean safely.

This is a great, compact little gadget that works great and is easy to clean. I’ve had several Pampered Chef ones over the years that are pricey but I kept losing the cleaning tool which made them that much harder to keep clean. I also like that this one contains the grated/sliced garlic until you’re ready to empty it. Very handy and easy to store.

It doesn't do what I had hoped it would do, slice thin slices of usable garlic. It does shred nicely and i do use it for that. Back to the razor blade for slicing.

Based on reviews and raves, I hoped this gadget would be a game-changer. It does work relatively quickly if you have to process a lot of garlic. But it also leaves a lot of garlic behind (despite the scraper). Mincing is only so-so. Slicing is somewhat better. It won’t replace your micro plane, nor your garlic pressure. If your knife skills are pretty good, stick with your knife and you’ll get better results. I’ll try it a few more times before ditching it, but I’m disappointed.

I've used this mincer a long time and needed a new one. It was easy to find and you made it easy to replace.

Perfect for grating and slicing garlic quickly and effortlessly!

I thought this would be a handy size, but thebdesigb is not practical to use. And its even worse because The grater was not sharp enough and you had to apply a lot of pressure to grate the garlic. Shipping also took a long time...almost 10 days. I have returned the item but after nearly 2 weeks the seller has yet to process my refund.

I’m not a fan. Didn’t mice as well as I had hoped. I went back to my old one.
