It's all about safety - and how best to protect your head. If you're riding cross-country or more aggressive trails you should think carefully how best to protect your head!! Troy Lee Designs offers helmets, like the one I purchased, at a great price point. I don't want to gamble on whether or not a Brand X helmet will work when I'm miles away from the nearest trailhead.Great product at a great price.
