Perugina Panettone, 2.2-Pound

this is my family's favorite brand of panettone. we have it every Christmas and new years eve. panettone is similar to the traditional german "stollen" cake. however, perugina panettone has a higher rise. panettone also has candied orange, lemon zest, citron and raisins in it. as for the cake part, it has a unique taste of an egg, brioche-like dough mixed with a champagne or sweet liquer of sorts. it is so moist and leaves your palate with a slightly "bubbly" feeling. forget about "manna" for the Gods, this is the most delicious Italian christmas cake that you will ever eat in your whole entire life. after one bite, I promise that it will definitely become one of your family traditions as well. eat and be merry- enjoy with no purchase regrets!!!

While there is no question that Perugina Panettone is absolutely delicious and the product's quality has also been consistently excellent, I do strongly object to them raising their price from $13.99 & $15.99 and now (April 2016) all the way up to $22.99. While the demand may not possibly be as great this time of year, I refuse to pay that kind of money for the product. And that's a shame because I was a very good customer and I frequently ordered the product. According to taste I would have rated it 5 stars but it was very dry. Next year I will rry another brand.

After trying many other brands of Pannettone Italian Cakes, I found this one to be the most flavorful, light and delicate, and tasting freshly baked. No hint of chemicals or additives remain in your mouth after enjoying the cake and it is healthy to eat. I have purchased this product for at least seven years. Our local wholesale grocery chain used to sell it during the Holidays, but three years ago they brought in another brand, which was greatly inferior. I had to search the internet to find the product and now order it online each Holiday Season and distribute it to friends and family and save ample for myself to enjoy throughout the year. For my purposes, the 1.1 lb product is better, but when I can't find the product in a smaller size, I purchase the 2 lb container.

This is one of the worst panettones I have ever eaten. I am Italian and have long enjoyed Perugina panettone but this year the product is very different. It is so bad that makes me think that it not a genuine Perugina product. Of course it could be the fact that Perugina is now owned byf Nestle and they have screwed with the recipe to squeeze more profits out of it. Sugar has been replaced with some syrup invert and the egg content has been significantly reduced. On the other hand, Bauli and others stick to the traditional recipe and still produce a great product at about half the price.And to add insult to injury, the vendor does not accept returns.

They say there's no such thing as bad beer, well i think there's no such thing as bad panettone. However I wasn't too impressed with this one.It was dry. (xmas 2014)It did make a good bread pudding though.for the price I expected more.I found better panettone at ALDI, and Sams club.And Fresh market had a good one too

This is delicious! Super fresh, and large/lasts a while. Much better than the typical grocery store holiday pannettone and nice to know it's available all year round. Missing 1 star bc I wish it was a bit cheaper.

It was soft, fresh, delicious and full of fruit and nuts. Excellent quality and the price was very reasonable. Great with tea and or coffee for breaks. My whole family shared this huge bread loaf and it was received great at the party.
