CatastrophiCreations Solid Wood Cat Shelf Handcrafted Wall-Mounted Cat Furniture, Onyx, 18"

Amazing! We installed three of these, and our cats took to them immediately - in fact they're on them as I write this. One of our cats weighs 20 pounds - but these shelves are working fine for him (and I'm hopeful he'll get a little more exercise this way). The instructions included were clear and explained how to mount using two studs or one stud and drywall. Overall the quality of workmanship is outstanding, and it's pleasant to be able to support a small U.S.-based business. We're already planning our next purchase.

I am very impressed with the look and quality of this item. It is very sturdy in construction, fastens rigidly to the wall, and has no problem supporting our 17-pound cats. The hardware included is for the attachment to interior wall studs or to drywall, but I installed it to the concrete wall in our catio using 3/16" Tapcons which fit perfectly through the bracket mounting holes. I installed this shelf and a kitty hammock also purchased from CatastrophiCreations up near the ceiling and next to a floor-to-ceiling cat tree, and the youngest cat wasted no time checking it out. I was so impressed with the construction of these that I ordered two of the larger hammocks to provide an elevated playground for the cats. I only wish that I had more wall space to mount some of the other unique cat furniture sold by CatastrophiCreations!

We have it set up in our bathroom to keep cat food off the floor where dogs can eat it. We just put it up, but it seems sturdy and I’m pleased with it. I am a DIYer and it was against my nature to spend X dollars for something seemingly simple. It is 1.25” thick pine sanded smooth board —we choose ebony color. The wood has a black stain on it instead of actual paint. Seems this will be ideal for the kitties’ grip. Honestly, buying pine boards, sanding and staining, finding the right brackets doesn’t seem fun to do. I’m glad I purchased it. I wished it was a little wider, for the sake of putting the food on it. We used some construction (nonrusting) screws and screwed the plastic bowl down. We will have to remove it on occasion for a thorough cleaning, but wiping it out will work most of the time. Now there is more room available for cats to alight. See picture.

I had some shelves for the cats put up but they needed one more to jump to another so I ordered this one based on reviews and I wasn't disappointed. My cats are pretty big, but it's solid to hold them. I thought the hardware was missing from my order, and they responded quickly to my email and offered to send it to me but it had become stuck to the wrapping and I found it. My handy friend who put it up commented on how simple and solid it is. I would recommend this, and I think my cats would too! (See pictures.)

It’s beautifully made and is very sturdy. The shelf came with instructions on how best to install the shelf. I think it’s pretty cool that they thought of spacing the mounting brackets based on where the studs in the wall are typically located in US homes. Can’t mount the shelf in studs like me? They have that info fully covered. They explain what anchors they have found work best.Need something custom? No problem! They are wonderful to work with. My cats love being up high on the shelves. I don’t worry about them jumping on/off the shelves and chasing each other because the quality shows in their work.

There’s nothing special about this particular shelf that merits what they are charging for it. It’s tiny - my cat doesn’t fit on it - which, granted, is my bad, should have double checked the measurements. The shelf piece itself is well made and looks nice, but the support system could use some redesigning. I’m not sure it’ll support your cat if she weighs more than 10lbs? I now use it for plants that definitely don’t weigh more than 10lbs and it slants.... very disappointed overall.

This is more for a small cat that weighs less than 7 pounds- the dimensions are accurate but none of our 6 cats felt safe.. i could have used my extra hardware to brace it but that wasn’t the point... and there was a crack running the length of the board- great idea but not for our cats— I tried!

Poor wall fittings colour not as in picture. Unless into a wood stud wall deeper fittings needed and not supplied.

Bought this to keep my dog from eating the cat's food! As my cat is older I had to set him up on the feeding platform daily and had thought I was in for life, but today noticed he had beed back to finish his bowl. Pricey product and I would not have on my walls as advertised, but in my basement, against the stair frame, it looks very nice and functions exactly as promised.

This set up is a bit pricey, but well worth it.It's made with quality materials, and comes with everything you need to install. Three instructions were clear, and the hardware is solid. I put it up by myself, and it took about 20 minutes.My cats love it and practically live on it now. Love, love, love this purchase.

Excellent quality, simple install. The cat loves it. Well worth the price.
