A "Why Didn't I Think of That?" Product
I bought one of these to throw in the back of the car when I had to travel to do some maintenance on a house in Birmingham, about 150 miles from where I live. Obviously, leaving a full length ladder (or anything else) on a roof rack wasn't an option - especially in Birmingham. I didn't have a roof rack anyway so I had to buy either a roof rack or a telescopic ladder for a similar price.I found the ladder to be a bit flexible when fully extended, but given the number of joints that's not really surprising. The job I had to do did not require the ladder to be fully extended anyway. With the ladder fully extended I'd be wary of doing any heavy work but that's not what it's about. It's about easy, convenient access to high places for light work. With the job done, and the ladder back in its bag, it is now stored in a relatively small space for the next time it's needed. When shutting each rung do be careful with your fingers. There is a gap between each rung but it really does slam down. If you get your fingers in the way it WILL hurt. Guaranteed! As I've only used/tried this telescopic ladder I can't really compare it to others but I'm very happy with it. It's definitely one of those good ideas I wish I'd thought of - and wish I'd bought years ago.

Compact, portable & easy to use
I can only endorse the majority of the comments of other reviewers. I love the convenience of having a full-length ladder which can be stored fairly unobtrusively in the spare bedroom. I have just two quibbles which prevent it getting 5 stars. Firstly, if you are planning to use it indoors be aware that the rubber feet will leave marks on emulsioned walls. You could tie bits of cloth around them to prevent this although it would reduce the grip a bit. Secondly, as others have said, collapsing the ladder back to its storage size from being fully extended is not particularly quick and convenient and is not something you would want to be doing very frequently.Incidentally, I have used the ladder fully extended (standing on the seventh rung up) and it felt fine.

Brilliant space saver.
This is a very sturdy loft ladder. I have found it absolutely invaluable for getting into lofts and other awkward places. I used to cart a step ladder around, but wielding a step ladder can be dangerous to light fittings and other household objects:-( This is brilliant for placing underneath a hatch and just extending vertically. Since it also collapses to a handy size, it can be stored away in quite a small cupboard. The carrying bag is good, too, but getting the ladder in-and-out on your own is a test of patience.

Highly recommended.
A great bit of kit, useful for the occasional bit of tricky indoor work, which I carry at all times as a painter and decorator. I’m 23 stone and it manages to support me, so it’s got to be good!
