With just 4 or 5 movements and no more than 5 strenuous reps each you can get a really good pump. Definitely aids in building raw strength and muscle in combination with a regular program of calisthenics and/or weight training.

Like others have said, after the first 30 reps the springs lose all elasticity. Its basically useless afterwards

I have some vintage chest expanders and these are of similar quality. Much better than most modern ones I've used. I liked mine so much that I went ahead and got 2 more. If they'd sell just the springs I'd like to get some to replace some of my vintage springs.EDIT: My expanders are still going strong about a year later. Use them maybe once a week or so. That being said looking at some of the more recent reviews they seem to have changed the springs. Make of that what you will, but those reviews do not seem happy with the spring quality.

This product is one that is a must have if you on the go like I am! Pull it out and get the exercising… works like a mobile gym! I would recommend this product!!!

I've been using it for a few days so I can't speak for it's longevity, but it reminds me of the ones I use to use at my grandparents house. Maybe it's nostalgia but overall I am satisfied with it.

I have used other chest expanders. This one has cheap, tiny springs that cannot be extended through a full range of motion exercise without breaking. Absolute junk.

I’m not very happy with this purchase. Matter of fact, very disappointed. If you have you ever used one before this one will likely disappoint you as well.The wooden handles are not very comfortable or solid in your hands when using it. The way that the steel attaches to it feels unsafe. I used it a couple times, and then tossed it away. It may be OK if you are a beginner, however, if you are intermediate or advanced, in terms of exercising, I’m sure there’s better products out there.

Bodybuilders from the bronze era used this and get naturally strong. I used this today first time and i feel it too good tool to make you strong without dumbbells or other equipment. Good for shoulders , arms , upper back , and a bit on chest. I recommend it !

If you are buying this, buy it for the handles. You are going to have to replace the springs and the clips that hold them in.Of the 5 springs i got with this, there were 4 different sizes. This makes the springs wrap over each other and there isn't an "even" stretch at the start. Moreover, they all have different strengths, so you might get 15 reps with one, and only 8 with another.The clips are standard complete garbage. I was doing some normal pull-aparts, when I noticed that one of the springs had come out as the clip had deformed. I am lucky it didn't happen while the spring was stretched, as that could have caused a serious injury.I enjoy using the chest expander, and appreciate that it was a cheap purchase, but not at the expense of my safety.PS: While I didn't let this affect my rating, the package that the chest expander arrived in was badly beaten in transit. I've never gotten a package quite this badly beaten up, so I am including pictures.
