Bought this for ease of use and easy to clean being stainless steel. We raise exotic cats and this scale works like a charm to weigh kittens 0-6months old. Very precise and so far it's been very durable over the past year. Seems like it would be great in the kitchen for food prep and general kitchen scale usage. So much easier to use than the digital scales we have also, this is a must have for the price. On top of working great it's a good looking piece of equiptment. Looks great on your countertop and you will definitely get some compliments on it. Enjoy

A little bit larger than I expected but works great and well made

Excellent scale. I misjudged the weight of a small watermelon and attempted to weigh it; amazingly, the scale still worked after that debacle, even though the watermelon exceeded its uppermost limits. The scale is shiny & attractive looking, and it appears to be made from quality materials that will last for a long time. Great to teach kids about how much things weigh.
