History of Native American Comedy
This book was a great read! It does a great job of discussing Native American comedy as well as describing what they have gone through!

Captivating
Although I have known for years about how various government bureaus and agencies abused the Native Americans this book adds a level of depth that I found educational.

Completely engaging
When coupled with the history of injustice and inequity, humor rises to a human right for Indigenous people in the United States. Invoking the spirit of beloved Native comedian, Charlie Hill, the author guides readers through a web of timeless stories and anecdotes that demonstrate the indomitable spirit of humor also serves as salve for healing justice. This is a must read!

funny but also not funny
There are some hilarious bits and sections here, but a great deal of the book, the parts about the lives and travails of Native comedians, can be very depressing. And be warned: the text itself makes up only a bit over half of the downloaded book. The rest is some pictures, a bibliography and an index. I don't really feel I got my full money's worth.

Good Condition
I bought this book for my sister-in-law so I haven't read it, but the book came in great shape, no bend pages or cover. Everything seemed to come in good condition. Happy with my purchase.

Very entertaining. More of a history of Indian sense of humor.
I loved this book. It's the best story I've read in awhile. When I bought the book I thought it would be a lot of comedy sketches. There are a few, but mostly it talks about the comedy circuits and working comics. Very good book. Highly recommend it.

Highly recommended
I expected some light reading and funny stories, but this book surprised me and really taught me a lot. I’m glad I read it and feel like I have a better understanding of the journey native Americans have been on for the last couple of centuries. The books gives a perspective I think most residents of North America aren’t familiar with. Besides learning about entertainers I wasn’t familiar with, there were insights into many folks I was familiar with, like Will Rogers, Richard Pryor and David Letterman. Highly recommended book.

Every chapter different and great historical background
The title grabbed me and so happy I purchased this book. My dad was classified as a red man and I spent 65 years thinking I was part native. Ancestry.com kinda put a dampener on that Funny and sad and made me laugh out loud and then get angry. Our nation spends so much time worrying about other minorities and we ignore those that were here first. the comics who told their stories really got a bum deal.
