I had the original version and loved it. Yes
I have been a SCUBA Instructor for more than forty years. In my opinion, if you are SCBUA diving in the open ocean, you need this device to make sure you can be found and rescued if you get separated from your dive boat. I had the original version and loved it. Yes, I actually used it to get rescued after a dive master in Hawaii got us lost and we ended up hopelessly down current. This new model is even more compact and uses simpler, more modern technology to bring a potential rescuer to you. Highly recommended!

EXCELLENT FOR SAFETY IN THE OCEAN
Keep it on me when I dive in the ocean off of boats. If you ever become separated from your boat for any reason it is a good GPS locator for search and rescue. Of course I have not used it to say how good it works but it does have a test mode to test it for a non- emergency test

Leaked after 2 years
Bought two of these May 2022. May 2024 checked my wife's prior to a dive and it was flooded. Contacted Nautilus to see what they are going to do about it. Guess we'll see.

Extremely disappointed in this "lifesaving" device
I do 5-7 miles offshore night dives. If I'm ever separated from the boat, this is literally my lifeline. On the boat before my last dive, I took it out to conduct a test and found that it was flooded and dead. This could've made the difference between life and death and it failed. I following battery installation and maintenance instructions perfectly. I showed it to the divemaster and he said, "oh yeah, the same thing happened to me, mine flooded too, so I got a Garmin instead". The seller referred me to Amazon and then Amazon tried to refer me to the manufacturer, but I was adamant and they eventually allowed a partial refund. These are supposed to last 5 years, without battery replacement, but mine failed in 6 months. I just ordered a Garmin inReach, I can't take this risk again, it's not worth it.

Safe Scuba Diver
I will start using it on my dive vacation in Egypt coming up. I have seen it used by other divers. I still trying to unscrew the top to insert the batteries. screws tight. I am confident that it will great safety feature. Most dive boats are requiring divers to wear them, either your own, rental for the boast, or the boat gives all divers their own units.

Safety
Feel better having this attached to me while diving off shore and surfacing in case I need help! I hope I never have to use it
